Not sure if that is rendered, there are some leaked Images online but how accurate they are is anyone's guess

But the return of the Celica and MR2 has been confirmed by Toyota and the specs, I'm rather excited a 4WD 2.l turbo after all is what I was trying to achieve with my gen 7

Interesting,I havent looked into any details but as it'll sit 'under' the Supra level, will it be all Toyota which (i think) the Yaris is,or some BMW influence in there.Saying that it being under the Supra level,be interesting also to see power output compared to a Yaris as well,be a bit odd where it sits in a line up

Id be interested if its a toyota and not something rebadged.

The supra for me is something that could have been so much better, if theyd not been so insistent on using a straight 6 - they could have used the Lexus LC.

I dont buy them just because they have a Toyota badge, its the way that toyota engineers them, I dont mind BMW but there is a lot of extra stuff on them that means that after 100,000 miles a lot of stuff starts failing which you just dont get on toyota or lexus.

I would like to see the Celica name make a come back , but only if it is on something like the pic in the first post.

I sincerely hope Toyota doesn't do what Ford have done with the Capri name , and stick it on a SUV/EV type of thing..

I completely agree with you Amit. Toyota missed a trick with both the GT86 and Supra. Sometimes it’s not all about the money and joint ventures. If it’s worth doing and there’s a market out there then do it properly. There’s a reason why our cars, MR2s and past Supras are the success stories they are…they were born out of Japan with excellent engineering, simplicity and ultimate reliability, with added fuel consumption to boot! I’d love to see the Celica name return but only if it’s through evolution rather than electrification.

Been hearing rumours about a new Celica for 15 odd years. We’ve had nothing official from Toyota, other than Toyoda-san saying he’d love to bring back the badge. So I’d be super sceptical until there is a pre-production mule being tested.

Would be awesome, though! I wouldn’t even mind a ground-up EV if it offers AWD with Tesla Model 3 Performance-Levels of fun. A retro-style 2.0l Turbo would be excellent too, but I’ve always felt that the tech in our Celicas has been forward-looking for their time.

It would really suck if they stuck a Celica badge on an SUV though. Poor Capri and Mustang :(

I have no issue with an EV, to be honest Id be more likely to buy it if it was electric as long as it was toyota engineered

Id rather the bagde never come back, than it be used as a marketing gimmick like the capri and mustang
