Pre-purchase inspection

Hi,

In my search for a gen6 vert I look at the RHDs in UK and I ask myself a question, who should I have the car inspected by before purchasing so that I don't have to travel for nothing?

I saw that there were several organizations offering this service (RAC, The AA, CarExaminer,...), do you have one to recommend?

For information I contacted RAC, they are asking me £498 for an inspection which seems a little excessive to me.

PS: for those who don't know, I'm French and traveling to the United Kingdom takes me time and money, so I hope I only have to travel the day I find that rare gem.

The AA charge from £191 for "vehicles of any age".

"from" makes a big difference, RAC is "from" £209 but £498 in reality....

where is the car - maybe see if a local member can take a look before you pay for a proper inspection?

The car is in Peacehaven, East Sussex.

 

Your idea is good Amit but I don't want to bother anyone about this.

Many of us have done it for other members before.  it would only take 20/30 mins for a look around to see if it was worth further inspection. IF it was closer I would go and see it.

I wonder how far away @arizona would be from it? She also has a Gen 6 vert so will know what she is looking at.

I couldn't quite visualise the distance on a map, so it was a stab in the dark! Sorry
