  1. My 2001 Astra turbo had more toys than the Celica. I love the basicness. I spend all day fixing useless crap on other cars I don't want the headache of fixing my own car. Hence buying a Toyota.
  2. Welcome!! Yes those wilwoods are after market. If they need a refurb do it. The stock brakes are pretty crap. As said freaky parts on here is the man when you need brakes. Those rears look fit for the bin. BrakepartsinternationAl can provide a refurb kit. The spoiler hole I can't help with lol. But if you do decide to swap the wilwoods for stock calipers I'd happily snap you hand off for the wilwoods. But seriously don't.
  3. If they want to play it like that why should you be out of anything? Why should you not have a car. Go through the insurance, even if you don't put in a PI claim atleast get your car sorted.
  4. I had a car written off. The insurance asked me if it was the car was taxed and mot'd. I don't know if they checked or not. But as far as I can guess as long as they don't check your ok, but as at the law is at the moment no car should be on the road over 3 years old without an mot unless it's prebooked and your going straight there. Personally I'd get it mot'd as soon as possible. But you'll need a drivers side fog light, even if it's a cheap stick on thing.
  5. Strictly speaking if the car wasn't mot'd it should be on the road unless it was booked in at a MOT station and you were on your way there.
  6. the only pipes i can think you could possibly mix up are the 2 smaller ones going to the coolant bottle. One comes from the throttle body and the other I can't remember of the top of my head.
  7. You may get more help if you let us know what model and engine.
  8. Happy 4 Anniversary Cleario!

  9. Like Orc said, find a back street garage, £5 a pop balanced here...
  10. Isn't a hilux 4pot upgrade a common thing for 86owners?
  11. I'd say do it, the carbon effect dip is a really nice finish. You could do a new more touches on too, I think it added a modern touch.
  12. I had a set on my Mercedes wheels on my Astra and on my white 18's on the Celica without any problems. But it does make checking the pressure a little fiddly as you have to screw unscrew the chrome cover with 2p and then screw the normal valve into it so you can use any old tyre gauge.
  13. I annealed the copper brake line washers on my mtb 4 pot calipers about this time last year. They've been fine and I've given them a good bit of use downhill with any leaks.
  14. I'm sure I have one somewhere deep in the tool box. I bought one to set up a 240 many years ago and haven't seen it since. I'll have a dig in work and in the garage.
  15. I like it, try asking on the celic-club
  16. I'm on 17x8 et34 and don't have any rubbing with 13mm spacers As for multi fit personally I don't like the look, but that's just me. I have a set of Wedssport rs5-ss which seem to be pretty rare in just 5x100
  17. I used 0awg on my last car to relocate the battery to the boot with a fuse just off the battery. Earth I was always lead to believe shorter the better. As long as it the best earth you can find. I had a cut off on the power cable behind the driver kick panel. It could be removed in a second and isolated. I drilled a hole through the floor and 13mm nut and bolted grinding away the paint to metal inside the boot. As for amp wiring not being good enough I don't see why not?
  18. Indeed it is, as was his Honda K20 (2002 civic type r)... Have a look for a company called 'zcars' they supplied his space frame for the rear of the mini. They make them for saxos too! The engine and box sits on a frame in the rear of the car.
  19. After my pride and joy my Astra (aka dis-Astra) coupe. Started out as a 1.8 basic coupe, got carried away spend thousands making it turbo charged, looking and sounding right only to be rear ended on a motorway slip road by a company car driving idiot using the sun in his eyes as the excuse. I was hard broken and thousands of pounds down the drain. I was on my way to put a deposit on an astra VXR and had my hair cut on the way. Had a chat as you do and he had a Celica for sale, handed him the money from my pocket and drove the Celica home. 60.000 miles later I'm still enjoying it. I can't help but to feel I need something bigger now. I'm a 25 year old senior tech for Volvo cars, cars have been part of me since a baby, dad was a 'auto electrician' back then so I spend 99% of my life in garages. I used the car to drive from Cardiff to Swansea 4/5 times a week to see the other half, 2 trips to Paris and it's never once let me down. I can be presentable but I'm generally dirty from work or muddy after being out on the MTB.
  20. It depends how hot you've gotten it. You may have warped the head hence loosing compression. Before you go any further get a compression test done.
  21. I'll be going FI...in the shape of an estate I hope or pick up oh and TDI I guess :/
  22. I think it's running a SR20, I can only dream'
  23. I had an adjustable shock spanner which was given to me. It used to fit a lot of coilovers that I've fitted/adjusted over the years. My dad used to use it for motorbike rear shocks. I'm not sure if you can find any Just found this in eBay http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/191155572678 Mine was the same. I've lost mine in the house move/somewhere in work or I'll send it out to you.
