  1. I liked the Registering Office finder on his website, so you can check from your reg where it was first registered. For instance my reg ends in XPB, so the PB is the code for being first registered in Guildford - which I did not know.
  2. There won't be many members who have had their car from new! Sounds like he gives you the first one from when the car was first registered. My car was already 4yrs old when I had it!
  3. I like the look of that! Definitely something to think about and a very reasonable charge.
  4. Anyone live in a village with a green who can rise to the challenge above?
  5. Dare I post another photo? Of course I will This one is quite poignant to me, as it is the world's last complete RAF Brittania transport plane in existence - and one my late father was Flight Engineer on. It wasn't open to the public today, but I have previously been inside and sat on the seat he would have sat on himself. They have retired RAF people who show you round and tell stories. No computers onboard and if they got lost, they could put a small periscope up through the cockpit roof and navigate by the stars .
  6. We had a great drive to Kemble Airport (nr Cirencester) this morning. We might not be able to go abroad, but I managed to park under a BA plane that I think they will be restoring on a stand rather than scrapping like all the other BA planes lined up
  7. Hello and . Hope you find a suitable venue for storage. I think there are a few guys up your way, so hopefully someone with some knowledge will be along soon. A visit to York and a drive through some stunning scenery is on our 'To Do' list!!
  8. Posting this photo on behalf of LD50 Off the beaten track to explore some lanes we've never driven down before.
  9. I was really hoping to see some great Autumnal photos of Celicas - where are they?? Make the most of the dry weather, find somewhere nice to drive and take a photo of your car!!
  10. Final one of the cars by the bridge over the Llangollen Canal. No horse-drawn narrow boats that day, but the canoeists were out in force.
  11. This is same place as above, front view, before the rainbow appeared. I know I'm breaking the rules by posting more than one photo at a time, but this kind of doesn't count because it is the view over that stone wall (not a Celica in sight!). The streams joining up as they descend the hills... .... and the sheep running away from me - note they all have long woolly tails!!
  12. A magical moment on the Llanberris Pass in North Wales! A rainbow just for us
  13. No idea what's what on Gen 7's - but is the top belt off?
  14. One of thhe best things for absorbing odours is sodium bicarbonat (Baking Soda). Usually this is sprinkled on fairly liberally, worked into the item gently (maybe with a soft brush) and left overnight. Then vacuum it up. May need a couple of repeats. Has the oil staining come through the leather to the front surface? I also googled 'How to remove smell of engine oil' and a number of products came up - including the Dr Beckmann Stain Devils range. They have one for Lubricant & Grease and another for Odour Remover. Also one called StressNoMore professional strength for dried in stains and Odour Destroyer (although I have not heard of this one). Only other option is to ask an upholsterer or car trimmers for their opinion.
  15. Sunrise at JDM Combe on Saturday I know we are only supposed to post one photo at a time, but can't resist....
  16. If you did that, you'd have the angry villagers after you - best park next to it
  17. I think I'd go and knock at the door and say you'll take it away for him and sort it out!
  18. I just been checking out Toyota GB Blog and they have some info on this: " This change will not affect Toyota owners with a diesel-powered vehicle. Which Toyota models can use E10 petrol? If your Toyota has a petrol engine or hybrid powertrain and was officially produced for European markets since January 1998, it will be compatible with E10 petrol. The only exceptions to this rule are the following vehicles: Toyota Avensis with 2.0-litre 1AZ-FSE engine made between July 2000 and October 2008. Toyota Avensis with 2.4-litre 2AZ-FSE engine made between June 2003 and October 2008. If your vehicle was produced before January 1998, it cannot use E10 fuel. Can you use E10 petrol in imported cars? If your car is an imported model that was not official sold in European markets, we recommend staying on E5 by using super unleaded, which has a higher octane rating. Having received queries from owners regarding specific imported models, we are investigating this further. "
  19. Nice to see Daytona's motto on the decal - still going strong!
  20. His and Her's two CS's after washing this evening in readiness for the Gen 5 Rally Drive in N Wales this weekend.
  21. I bet more famous people would wish they could talk to people naturally and just be themselves - without the other person knowing and making judgements or fawning at their feet!
