guynecologist
Came across this on Honest John Selected the Celica section as this is a Celica forum, but you can drill down and see what the good and bad point are for cars when it comes to the MOT http://good-garage-guide.honestjohn.co.uk/mot/toyota/celica Edited November 15, 2015 by guynecologist

_Chris_
28% fail on lights not working. That's just plain lazy.
Cal670
28% fail on lights not working. That's just plain lazy. Also, unless the garage do free re-tests, £30 wasted.
Askari
Interesting but I suspect it tells you more about owners/drivers than it does the cars! Edited November 16, 2015 by Askari
rdlat381
Mine failed the first time in 5 years, exhaust had rotted at silencer, but it was the original on a 2002 car, so no complaints!
beanmuncha
My car just went thru with only a brake bulb needed, and last year it was a new tyre. Friend has a 3yr old Seat and needed £250 to get it thru, shows the difference.

mar
my gen 6 has just failed on excessive play on suspension arm(s): tester said 2 arms but mines an ssIII with the super strut suspension I took it back to the guy I used to use before I moved to darkest hampshire and he reckons only one arm expensive tho
bazz54
I just looked at that site and got up the details for my other car which is a Rover 600. It said exactly the same thing - most failures on lights/electrical and then on suspension. On the R600 owners forum, the number one risk of MoT fail is always regarded as the handbrake. As yet, my Gen7 has never failed. As suggested above, that data might tell you more about owners than cars.
andyt
Had a gen6 for 9 years, passed every time with no problem, I never serviced either. Great car until somebody decided to use it to wake themselves up and wrote it off. Now own gen7.
