samuaw
My god.. Bit off more than i could chew.. Got some vinyl wrap from ebay, The not so fancy stuff which pros use.. Thought i'd Wrap a few house hold goods. Laptops, Phones. Bottle openers.. That was all practice for the bigger picture... MY God. I'll never do it ever again, I'll gladdly pay a professional to do. The fact that... Vinyl is 2d...(flat) and objects are 3d. By blind luck, I someone managed to complete the task at hand with a scalpel and a heat gun. There are SOME bubbles and SOME wrinkles, But thats the best i can do for a £7.50 roll of yes.. you guessed it.. GOLD CF Vinyl . For all the wrappers out there.. I salute you! samuaw
£7.50 a roll Looks good though, and yes, it isn't as easy as it looks It clearly wasn't the pricey stuff Give it a few weeks or months. When it all peels off, They will need to be wrapped again, in the GOOD stuff.

samuaw
Just fitted it back in. Thank god my climate control and clock still work after flinging it around on the table, neogiciating the heat gun with the shrinking and expanding and blah blah blah. IT is SO distracting, Even in the dark, It is so eye catching... So that's why they don;t make colourful centre consoles... Hmmmm Ah well.. Got to live with it for a while. Tr1cksta
That looks pretty good for a first attempt mate Have you tried using a hair dryer on the little bubbles? Should help smooth them out. You could always try the pin prick technique to release the air

But, Some bubbles, Because i have strectched it so far, popping a bubble and squeezing air means i'll still get a crease. Ah well... It'll never be perfect with the materials i am using. it looks like S E X Maybe if it were Sex... on a gold bed... Then yes.... sure.. lol Edited April 6, 2011 by samuaw

Maybe if it were Sex... on a gold bed... Then yes.... sure.. lol What kinda porn you and SJ been watching? I just know you're going to try again Sam as it is addictive. When I first tried a few years ago, I bought the cheap stuff and it just did not work for me in the gear gater bit where it's just too deep and would not stretch. When it did it didn't look right and ripped or would not stick. You did a decent job. Just need to get the bubbles out and roll the edges under so it doesn't start peeling off. Did you have a heat gun? Try heating the surface to 40 degs first before applying. Remember that lazer temp sensor we had?
