It's a great Car... and other non-negative stuff!

I'd just finished cleaning her a few weeks ago and I heard "Dad, dad, look at that car! Can you buy one of those pleeeeease?"

Put a big smile on my face and then got me thinking. How many other cars that most people can afford get that kind of reaction from kids?

I had a bloke last week who said " nice car bet it goes fast " my reply " fast enough for me " why do they think that we speed everywhere !!!!

LOL.. when ya drive a sleek (dare I say Ferrari-like ;) ) supercar it's a natural assumption, DQ...I guess it's something we just have to accept.:laugh2:

I have some college students studying photography always taking videos and pictures of my car when I'm driving around town.

Best time was when I had just stuck on my bonkers Loud exhaust and floored it past them in a tunnel. Set off 3 car alarms and the one crouching with the camera fell over :P

Got the is it a Ferrari? Card played a few times too.

I managed to set off a car alarm the other week by just driving by, and my exhaust is standard! It was quite satisfying really.

Still love the 7 and it does get some attention especially when it's all polished up and gleaming. Earlier today I was passing a local garage and noticed they had a type r (fn2) and a focus st2 both priced at 7500 so I thought I would have a look and sit in them. Sure they are quicker and better to drive but both left me a bit cold, especially the focus which felt like sitting in a 1.6 zetec. I turned back and looked at my celi and just thought it looks like twice the car at a third of the price.

For various reasond Betty had a trip to Mr T's workshops yesterday. her nose is fixed but she is still wetting the carpet. However when I came to pay the nice lady said "Ah, that's your black Celica is it? Nice condition!" " Yes they have done a saftey check and errr, new tyres, brakes shocks, well it passed with flying colours, oil and everything else looks fresh too" aka Damn swine no work for us!!!!

"Have you considered a GT86 Sir?" "Yes thanks. I don't want a slower car."

Oh it's a TSport? What have you done to it. did you go to jap fest etc. She's worked there 20 years and knows her cars.

Just nice for a knowledgeable non club member to give it the nod.

That's all. :)

I was talking to a copper just a general conversation,

Any how we where talking about the car, ( my gen 5 with castrol decals ) and he said how nice the car was and he don't see any of them around

He then said i bet she will pick her feet up won't she.

My reply was yeah she gets up to 60 quite quickly, lol.

He says good answer but i bet it's a lot more than that with a big grin across his face, Me, No comment lol

I get comments just about every day with my car, especially with the influx of new starters where I work. It's usually 'is that your Celica ? Nice car' I never get bored of it, the looks and attention it gets especially when I flip the bonnet and show them the bling. I doubt you would get the same reaction with a Golf or BMW,the Celica just stands out from the crowd :)

I need to get to the supermarket more often though ;)

.When my mechanic took a nosey underneath the bonnet yesterday..he said "clucking bell"..or something that rhymed with it..."is it new".??..in the 7 years I've been dealing with this guy he reckons it's the best car I've had.! (apart from a Saab vert I had a few years ago..he's a Saab/Subaru expert..so he's a bit biased..lol))

I guess it would be churlish to disagree.
