Invest in a hat and you can enjoy top down motoring year round.
I bought my mr2 roadster in December and drove top down with heater on from day one. Just make sure you warm the car up before dropping the roof and it will be fine.
A lot of garages are Getting wise to tyre sites like camskill and tyreleader where you can make big savings. They have increased their fitting prices if they offer it at all which is annoying. Small independents who will fit them for cash in hand are best.
I would say its probably facelift with a pre facelift bumper. Mine is November 2002 and is facelift.
At 140k miles it's no doubt going to be quite cheap. Oil burner or not it's made it this far!
I do think it's admirable that you would want to sort this problem for him but at the end of the day the guy bought a 2nd hand engine on eBay. To the best of your knowledge it was fine when it was in your car. You don't know anything about the person who installed the engine in his car, absolutely anything could have gone wrong.
I would email him with suggestions given above but at the end of the day it's really not your problem.
I was thinking the same thing. As a fun weekend car it's worth keeping unless of course you really need the money or space on your drive. The thing that would force me to sell mine is a need for more practicality and the miles I do.
Do you mean the rear tyres are worn unevenly?
It's very common for them to wear more on the inner edge sometimes causing them to make a noise similar to knackered wheel bearings. One solution is to rotate them regularly with the fronts.
What tyres do you have?
I've just come back from a weeks holiday where we hired a brand new fiesta. I was looking forward to it because the motoring press are always on about how great the fiesta is to drive. Now it seems that great to drive means easy to drive. You sit high with a great view and all the controls are so heavily assisted that it's like driving a feather. I think it was a 1.2 and there was a time in the late 90's where the 1.2 fiesta had loads of zip but it's now totally inadequate in the new car. Anyone who thinks a gen7 is gutless should drive one of these!
Most new cars are great for people who just want a car and don't really care about driving. They don't require you to do anything at all. When we got back I even enjoyed the drive back from the airport in my gf's Hyundai i10 which has more feel to it and more go with the same 82bhp power output. Imagine how much I'm looking forward to my celica fix this morning!
My other half names cars using their reg.
The celica ends in FBJ so she calls it Faberge like the posh, expensive eggs!
Unfortunately the MR2 starts with PN05.....!
This is doable. As said you need a passenger to get the pic as getting out of the car while at the window would be difficult!
Or.....you could get the member of staff who serves you to take it???
