  1. Manifold nuts, gaskets and cat fitting kit, just waiting on the new downpipe so I can get on with full exhaust replacement
  2. Happy Anniversary Joecard71!

  3. Unfortunately in Cardiff it's a persistent problem with car side windows being smashed, especially in student areas, I never EVER! Leave anything on show in the car, not even small change on show, the bastards think nothing of putting the window through just to see what you've left. Ive seen people leave stupid things in their car before and hey presto the following morning they have a mess to sort out.
  4. Have you checked Mr T, I got a new higher capacity one from them for £56 in Cardiff after the crappy old unipart one died last year.
  5. I could have got Brian Hibbard from the Flying Picketts sat in my car if only he hadn't died last year (neighbour as was)
  6. I've picked some up from GSF Car Parts for £12.90, I'll give it a go, lets see if it helps. You only need to add it to about 15 litres of fuel which means i don't have to fill the tank up... which is nice.
  7. Haven't seen this, but be interested to find out myself.
  8. MOT tester yesterday (despite failing me on emissions) 'Has the car genuinely done those miles?' (I nod) 'that's some dedication, it's (best welsh phrase ever) TIDY!'
  9. What the hell goes through these people's minds? So unnecessary! Women with their studded oversized handbags brushing past is another eyebrow raiser for me. No consolation but it looks like it could have been worse I guess.
  10. Bit sporty for you aint it, what is it? ... read the F#ckin@ label!
  11. Cracking job, want to have a go at this myself, but im about to have new tyres on mine for mot.
  12. Lolz we all have those moments. Glad it's an easy outcome.
  13. Happy Anniversary Joecard71!

  14. Handy that thanks, £121 for 6 months and £220 for 12, I noticed too my celica is celebrating 14th birthday tomorrow first registered 25/11/1998
  15. At least you are visible. Wish the Police would concentrate on more serious lightig issues out there. I've lost count of the 'one eyed' monsters on the roads at the moment, how on earth people can drive around with a light out, dodgey indicators relays etc baffles me.
  16. These will finish off my rear end lovely, just another spray job to do. Not bad for £5, just got to decide what colour I'm going under the bonnet, Red, Black, Blue or Silver or just polish it up
  17. That is interesting, my insurer doesn't need informing. However, I wonder with the introduction of these new tyre lables, how long will it be before what tyres are fitted to your car will influence a premium for insurance or an outcome of any claim after an accident.
  18. There is a silver gen 6 in Cardiff with a dominoes pizza light on its roof doing deliveries driven by a youngish woman, tried waving and flashing but had no response yet. Loads of 7's but I always see them parked up. A couple of 6's still about locally though.
  19. Tyres = probably the most important safety feature on the car, I wouldn't scrimp on them with retreads.
  20. I have driven brand new company cars for over a decade, the last one being a new corsa that gave me no end of problems apart from the fact it wasn't as practicle as I imagined. So beginning of this year I trawled through autotrader for a replacement, nothing was inspiring as you can imagine, all badly looked after tired euro boxes. Plenty of cars I'd 'like' to own but nothing within my price range and running costs. By chance I was talking to a friends mum who had a black gen5 in the 90s, I hadn't really looked at celicas before and to be honest never really considered Toyotas much either. But she said it was the best car she'd owned and was gutted when it was stolen and torched. Anyway, I began looking at them and was really surprised how cheap it was to pick one up and the insurance was damned cheap compared to 'lesser' cars I was looking at. I began looking at some celicas (the gen 6 appealed to me the most) locally within reach, found out more about them on here and after viewing about 7, most of which were complete sheds, had to find a good one. I wasn't to be rushed and finally saw the one I wanted at a dealers in Bristol. It was up for £1250, I wasn't going to pay more than a grand and pointed out a few things re brakes and clutch and said I'll give you £900 cash and take it now. The deal was done, got the SR in silver great condition, with 189k mostly motorway miles by all accounts, full history and docs, it only had one lady owner from new and knew it was a sound car. Since February I've steadily given her some TLC inside and out, and added a few extras like jdm rears, toms lip, front and rear braces, clear side repeaters and of course the all important Celica Club sticker. It flew through MOT in August without issues and has been very reliable, most of all a pleasure to drive and be seen in, more smiles per miles than any car I've ever owned so far. I know its only a car and a pretty basic model at that, but, I've definitely fallen for the cars charm, Hope to get a few years out of her..
