AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! YES if it's leaking. Any ideas how I'd check for a leak? or can quick fit check?
Ant Baker
When quick fit do a regas they should run through the whole test as they need to pull a vacuum in the system. This should show up any leaks but yeah once a year sounds about right
Old Red Celica
IF you have a UV light (like the fake bank note detectors) it may pick up a leak IF the AC Fluid has had a dye added.
Mr Rizla
green marks round hose areas, mine has a leak and it shows up green,
Ant Baker
all AC fluid has a dye added, it is usually green or orange you may see it around any connections for the AC quite often go on of the compreessor

Adex
I've never had to re-gass any of my car's that have had A/C. Not once, not ever. Never had any drop in ac performance either. But then I've not had any leaks either. Once a year is mental though. AC gas doesn't 'go-off', so it'll keep doing it's job if your a/c system is as leak free as it should be. From new, your car's first (re)gas will last 100,000 miles or more typically. If I needed to re-gass after a year, I'd get all my a/c pipe 'o'rings changed pronto. Alistair_GT
Yeah once a year is bonkers, should last for many years before it needs doing again. Unless it's leaking of course. Rip the AC out and discard into a bin, where it belongs. Problem solved Edited May 28, 2012 by Alistair_GT
Adex
Rip the AC out and take it down to the local scrap metal yard.... The whole system is pretty heavy so should be worth a few quid to them! Edited for you mate!
