lovelock Posted 14 June 2016 Report Posted 14 June 2016 I have removed these gauges: And have three holes, I really cba with buying and fitting and new dash. Anyone got any clever ideas to make the holes a bit less obvious / something better than a black bit of vinyl to cover over it?
Crazy Cat Lady Posted 14 June 2016 Report Posted 14 June 2016 Obtain a small piece of dashboard material from ams, preferably same year, model, colour of trim just large enough to cover all three holes, shape it into a lozenge shaped cover to go over all three holes... Not perfect but will look like another hatch, like the airbag cover. 1
The Spectre Posted 14 June 2016 Report Posted 14 June 2016 Any oblong plaque would work e.g stainless/carbon fibre Or if you want to go nuts an equalizer screen for your radio would look cool I reckon. Trying to blend it back to original won't work I don't think, try to make a feature of it or make it look like an OEM fit item
dean68 Posted 14 June 2016 Report Posted 14 June 2016 Fill it and get ant to flock the whole dash board.

Wrap in in carbon fibre or something.
Spaff Posted 14 June 2016 Report Posted 14 June 2016 Make a super secret compartment and hide something interesting in it
ams Posted 14 June 2016 Report Posted 14 June 2016 dashboard change isnt as hard as you think, there is an easy way that involves leaving the loom on the back of the dash - which means it takes around an hour to take out - did one bout 20 mins a few weeks ago, will PM you
Foogles Posted 15 June 2016 Report Posted 15 June 2016 Cut some more and make an Olympic logo tribute? 1
Tomb Posted 15 June 2016 Report Posted 15 June 2016 Or do a celica dragon badge followed by a toyota badge then t sport badge? Or centre caps depending on the size of the holes
lovelock Posted 16 June 2016 Author Report Posted 16 June 2016 I have just been in the car and noticed that the air con vents are the same size as the holes... Would an extra three look mad? or genius?
solfunky Posted 16 June 2016 Report Posted 16 June 2016 I'm gunna go with 'strange' lol What about cutting from the first along to the 3Rd along the top and bottom to make like one big oblong which you could maybe get a piece of acrylic heated to the same contour and just get a nice 'celica' vinyl made up be Mook? :/ it really was a **** of a place to just whack 3 dials in eh. Mental 1
Lewisek Posted 17 June 2016 Report Posted 17 June 2016 Maybe you could get 3 nice snowglobes and wedge them into the spaces? Would be a UK first. 2
Lewisek Posted 17 June 2016 Report Posted 17 June 2016 Yeah or use them as baguette holders so you can quickly and easily grab your favourite snack mid drift 3
ams Posted 17 June 2016 Report Posted 17 June 2016 I have 3 vents that Ill put in the box if i can find them 1
solfunky Posted 17 June 2016 Report Posted 17 June 2016 Uh hey... If it's pure comic value we're resorting to then surely the only solution is a "Whack a Mole" type set up! Pressure plate in the passenger seat so the moment you plant your arse it's GAME ON! 6
tabbaranx Posted 8 July 2016 Report Posted 8 July 2016 Swapping dash is a doddle, can buy them cheap and doesn't take long to swap over.
