  1. I never used the connectors they came with, just took the smd and used the existing fitting. Going to take them all out and solder them to the fitting see if that makes a difference. Guess that's why you only tend to see LED's soldered to the pcb
  2. Just wanted to know if anybody with smd LED's in the dash/center console experience any problems? Usually only twist lock, not 501's or festoon fitments. All 3 of my cars have them fitted in the dash and all three flicker and turn on and off from time to time. I went for them in the GT4 because the standard bulbs were very dim. I used the existing fitting so they were a tighter fit and made sure they were a good connection and did not move around, worked fine for about a month before they now flicker on and off, checked connections and nothings changed. The LED's in the other 2 are now doing the same, when they work they are great, but at present they are all a load of shite. I have used those different coloured rubber sleeves on my last car, although not as bright nothing seems to work as well as standard bulbs, for me anyway?
  3. Probably be able to buy and swap the doors over cheaper than the respray.
  4. x2, 040 is super gloss and requires no lacquer, confirmed by jawel paint who I get my paint from. Go ahead and Top coat it, true it won't hurt, but then again it won't look the same.
  5. I currently have both and would much rather be sitting in a Celica of any Generation than the Astra.
  6. If you have never owned/driven a stanced car then I say do it, because you will fast realise it's only advantage is sitting in a car park having its picture taken by people wearing flat peaks and chinos.
  7. Curry's have put the price up on those 40" Samsung smart TV's by £50 on their website in the last few week's, otherwise I would have bought one .
  8. Prices seem on an all time low with 205's at present, with the faults I would think around 1k. May be best selling some of the bits off to get most for it. Drop me a PM if you decide to split the three spokes and tyres
  9. Sprayed old engine oil and a rag down a dusty road is how we under sealed my mates old car
  10. Been and bought one from lidl today. I paid £60 for a jump starter off ebay a couple years ago, and the damn thing didn't work. So if the car struggles not being used over winter just take it off and charge it, £15 well spent.
  11. I used the gearbox slick50 additive in another car and it helped.
  12. yea I may just get some part worn snow tyres, its only for a second set of wheels for the few times it will get used over winter. Just fancied a play in the snow and did not want to take the new 18" out. Must admit I bought 4 new winter tyres for the van last year and they were the best purchase I ever made, fantastic in wet and frost.
  13. Has anybody used retreaded tyres or can say if they are any good. Been looking at snow/winter tyres and came across eco-tyre.co.uk seller on ebay who sells retreaded never seen them before?
  14. Get genuine from Toyota is what he probably means. Although you can just use the gasket rings, depends what the mating faces are shaped like.
  15. IMO unless a Japanese person has guffed in the foam of your seat then you are not JDM. Who needs a sticker to tell people the car was made in Japan anyway?
  16. I have had that comment a few times "your car looks loud......" but in the words of Eddy from Bottom " You hit the nail on the cl*t there you cu*ting ba*tard."
  17. I think there is definitely a market for cars like yours esp for people looking for a gt4 and know there stuff will be able to tell its not in the same league of those 2k POS GT4's. I wouldn't want to see it go for less than £3500 even then I would de-mod it as much as possible.
  18. £1200 for a 185 , be going over that with a good eye.
  19. Start with the easy things first and then and go from there.
  20. I think I have read about this before on the OC and it turned out to be the clutch master/slave cylinder. Have a look in the engine bay its attached to the bulk head and has the fluid reservoir ontop see if the rubber boots are intact not leaking fluid.
