  1. A friend of mine asked me if I wanted to do a cheap track day and sent me this http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=65&t=1238831&mid=75489&nmt=Curborough+%2D+27th+February+%A360+per+car So what do you think for a beginner like me?
  2. No worries. I'd suggest buying 1 meter to try out first and you'll need a good heat gun. Not a high flow but one which can get hot fast.
  3. Hexis is probably the most expensive vinyl suppliers in the UK yet one of the best. You can buy direct from them. My advice is if you're wanting to learn, don't depend on self tutorial, trial and errors and youtube. Go and do a course because there is a lot more science involved which you must understand in order to be a pro.
  4. It wont work I cqn tell you that now. The curve of the gen 6 spats are totally differnt from the gen 7 theres no way youll be able to blend the two together. You are better off using something like bumper filler or something not as heavy to making your own by plastering it on and shaving back then make a mould off it.
  5. we should organise a day event with the CC club this year. I'd be up for that before I get married in April.
  6. I too am considering a track learning session and I always see that group events in forums are cheaper.
  7. best thing about the club is that there are always going to be helpful people to give you a hand. Do it your self is a good way to learn and save money.
  8. This is caused by water. Who ever sprayed your car didn't have a working or very good element filter or a clean air line. Basically the air from the compressor is from the atmosphere. It contains condensation. The same air is blown down the lines to power the air gun which paints your car. The water in the air is mixed with the paint. After the layers of primer and base paint then clear coat, you have water trapped in your paint work. Over time it would expand and contract and because the water can't escape, it creates this chicken skin effect.
  9. there's a guy in "for sale" who was breaking his Sports M so has it off his car. I'm sure he can tell you.
  10. Where about are you staying? I saw loads in Hakone.
  11. omg!! shocking and brutal way to fit the skirts!
  12. yes. because your car is painted with base coat and clear coat meaning it has so why wouldnt you want to paint it the same?
  13. get a new strip from Toyota. You can get them in white. Ask for a skirt trim for a Yaris or wheel arch top edge trim from a Rave 4 as they are all the same.
  14. like the video especially the game style spec sheets at the end. was it a gangsta dress code?
  15. If its steam like then it's normal. A good cat will produce water your exhaust being hit it will produce a lot of steam. If it's smoke then you've got a problem. Some kind of leak where oil is burning.
  16. as bee said. Put 2 nuts on. lock them together then unwind it out by turning the bottom one only. Mind you you'll probably need to get new bolts after.
  17. Happy Anniversary yellowchinaman!

  18. well if you do hear back from him and he's able to help. Can you let me know. I think I'll get 2 maybe 3 spare sets.
  19. Yep. Gona prep these up and repair them tomorrow. Then sending them off to be made in poliU and carbon. Finally I can bin the last mould.
  20. Here's a question about these. Why is it that people don't buy them from MR T? Do they not sell them?
  21. I remember having halos back in the day when doing my first service and I remembered how impressed I was after installing them.
  22. paint can be anything from £7-£45 per litre. typically you can get Ali to paint an entire car from approx £600+ Vinyl wrapping is the same principle. Research in the wrappers skills. You're paying for craftsmanship not for materials. If you want to wrap on a budget, I'd suggest you don't. The cost of reversing the damage can be more costly.
  23. I have the ctek one. Best thing I bought for the battery.
  24. Im gonna be a open minded about this. If I wanted cheap budget tyres for low speed (like a fork lift) or even if I was into drifting where cheap tyres are disposable then so be it. Safety is always questionable. Retreaded dont blow out cos it's retreaded. They blow out or leak because before they where retreaded, the warn tyre must had suffered some damage such a wire breakage or punctures. However its a case of unknown. Most companies swear they only retread inspected used tyres to avoid this because its a liability issue of a product. But a side note, the quality of the tyre isnt the amount of tread or tread pattern but more of what the compound is made of. That is a unknown factor. We buy performance tyres becasue we know of a reputable company and proven performance. Hence why retread tyres are always a unknown risk.
