  1. No problem Oaksey, glad you like them. Mook and I spent a while getting them exactly how I wanted them. Top bloke, really does a quality job. Fitting is the dials is easy, its swapping the smts that's very fiddly. I used a standard soldering iron tip, not knowing that you can get smaller ones which is what might have made it a bit easier. If you do a search you should find my old posts detailing the fitting. Here's a pic of my old dials, look awful don't they! And here is a pic of the circuitboard as I was halfway through changing to the white smts. You have to swap 23 smts. You can see the 10 that I have swapped that are lit up. But if you look where the LCD panel sits showing your fuel and temp, there are 13 more to do there. In the pic you can see there are 4 New smts fitted in this area but they are not lit, it took me a while to work out they will only light up when you reconnect the LCD display. I spent a while swapping them around and trying to get to work before I realised this! If this is your first time I would allow a full day to do this including painting your needles and recalibrating using a satnav I also swapped my headlight, fog light and seatbelt warning light for pink! You can also my old needles in this pic that I wasn't happy with.
  2. Cheers mate. The needles don't change colour, but they look different as they are from a mk1 Hyundai coupe. They hold the red colour so much better than the celica ones. I got sick of trying different paints and techniques to try and get my celica needles a nice red colour and just took a punt on these and they fit perfectly.
  3. I switched from Goodyear eagle F1s GSD3s to uniroyal rainsport 2s and will never go back. Goodyear were good but uniroyals are simply the best tyres I've ever had.
  4. Silver Gt, well you mustn't read the forums very well as Brinkz Missus's MR2 handbrake failed not so long ago and she rolled into a wall and screwed the front end!
  5. I needed a fair bit of weight on three wheels as they have suffered a bit due to Huddersfield potholes! but it still drives ace so no whinging from me
  6. Had these tyres fitted on Saturday. Have done 20miles so far and I am absolutely bowled over by how well these tyres perform particularly in the wet. I've always run quality tyres and have used Goodyear eagle F1 GSD3s for the last 5 years and they were quite good but the uniroyals kick their arse. I would highly recommend these. I got them from Camskill for £336.76 delivered for a set of 4. £55 for fitting including New valves and balancing. One last thing they also got tested in sleety/slushy conditions on Saturday and they didn't lose grip once despite my best efforts
  7. They arrive tomorrow so I ll post my opinions over the weekend. With the terrible weather we are having here I will certainly be putting their name to the test!
  8. Smashing, cheers Kev. As soon as I knew what to search for it came up immediately. "87" will hold just over 2 tons so no probs there lol! 87 it is then.
  9. I currently have a set of 215 40 17 Goodyear Eagle F1s GSD3's. Rated 87Y for speed. I'm about to buy a set of Uniroyal Rainsport 2's 215 45 17's, but there are two types on Camskill: 215 45 17 91W and 215 45 17 87W Now I know the "W" is the speed rating but what do the "91" and the "87" mean?? They are basically the same price but I just wondered which to get as I need them ASAP due to frost on the road this morning. Cheers peeps
  10. Gutted for you Paul, I used a good mobile dent a few years ago if you want his number. Hiw are the cams working out for you, have you given them a blast yet?
  11. This is a bit of a sly offer from halfords as you need 5L for an oil change. Well I think the gen 7 takes about 4.3L of oil so you would need to buy two of those 4L magnatec to do a full oil change which would cost you £35. So not that a good deal after all! I very nearly bought one too until I saw it was 4L. I ll prob buy a single 5L of something else!
  12. Linky to the letter writing template = very useful! https://consumer-tools.direct.gov.uk/consumer-advice/template_letters/supply_goods_services_new/
  13. I'm a fan of stand up comedy. You can listen to it whilst your passenger watches it. I also managed to watch Harold and Kumar all the way through whilst in a traffic jam on way to cornwall. It certainly made it more bearable!
  14. Rich are you taking it back to the dyno place we went to so you can accurately compare?
  15. Looking good pal, nice to see it all coming together
  16. Hi mate, thats very weird you should post this message as I have EBC grooved discs with greenstuff pads and im getting EXACTLY the same issue with mine at the front, also at about 10k miles. I also have plenty of meat left on my pads but I havent had time to strip them down and have a look at the calipers. I know the longer I leave it the worse its probably gunna get but Im really busy at the moment with other stuff. The car still stops fine but there is the noticable judder when doing so. Im not sure if its easing off the longer I leave it or if Im just getting used to it! Im thinking possibly a sticking slider or piston may be responsible. Let me know what you find out Cheers
  17. The gold works very well with the Thunder Grey, good job
  18. Dawn, have you seen this in the for sale sectio? http://www.celica-club.co.uk/forum/index.php?/topic/118283-clifford-concept-600/ If you ask the guy who removes it to label the loom with where each bit goes then you could just pay a local auto electrician £50 to fit it and ask a member on here who has the same alarm to send you a photocopy of their instructions and manual?? Could save youa fair bit of cash???? I've just noticed he is in Leeds too, so not far from you
  19. I bought a mint TRD panel filter off this chap too. Im itching to fit it but think I'll wait until I get the full exhaust with sports CAT fitted, fill up with 99RON tesco stuff, stick in the TRD filter, ECU reset and see how she fairs back on the rollers
  20. Yep, get an infill then debadge...its the way forward From this: To this:
  21. Finally got my power curves scanned in at work. Apologies from the crap picture but I dont think the scanner is the best in the world and I got a couple of raindrops on the sheet Despite that I'm well proud of the little yellow'un! 175bhp average, that unserviced and run on 95 RON fuel.
  22. What a great day, thanks to all for making it there in the bad weather. I was in two minds whether to call it off as it was heavy snow in Huddersfield when I got up at 7am to wash the car :-) Didnt wash the car, just had a longer sleep, but the snow kept coming.I passed a snow plough in action as I joined the M1, the fast lane was unusable in parts. I think I made it there about 10.10am so only 10 mins late but I was still the last to arrive! Anyways thanks for the great write up Rich and the vid of my car seeing as though I couldnt work my new phone and the movies I took had no sound. I was really chuffed with my result, especially seeing as though it hasnt had an oil change for 6 months and I think the air filter must be 18months old lol I did three runs and came out with an average of 175bhp at the fly which I am dead pleased with considering the car is almost 8 years old with 84000 miles on the clock. Will scan my graphs in on Monday and get them up! As Rich said above, John the dyno guy had never experienced lift and described it as "very aggressive" and it certainly put a smile on his face, and mine as you could see the car surge forward on the rollers when it kicked in. Wicked!
