  1. Could have been worse!! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1715650848667716&set=a.1408623532703784.1073741834.100006684521711&type=3&theater
  2. Have you checked whether there are any software updates (for the stereo and/or the phone)? I had a problem with my Parrot and it turned out that the Parrot software needed to be updated to match the iPhone Bluetooth version.
  3. Surprising, but good news. "This aspect I am more than happy with however the next part of the message "In terms of covering any additional costs for your inconvenience (hire car while repairs carried out, time off work) they simply are not going to entertain any of that.... That felt like they are taking the piss a bit, as their driver smashes into the back of me while stationary..." Given the other party's attitude, I'd put it in the hands of your insurance company and they can rip the director a new one!!. Have you got legal expenses cover on your policy?
  4. Being on my second set of mats (between the T Sport and the GT), the only problem is that they wear out where my heels rub on the mats. I've looked for pads to fit to protest the mats but with no luck. Would alloy be too slippery and dangerous? Would rubber pads wear just as fast? How to attached them to the mats? Ideas please
  5. I picked at the edge of the alloy disc with a scalpel then used a thin letter opener to lift the disc and cut the old adhesive.
  6. Yep. Less than 0.5mm but the curve strengthens it. The adhesive on the GT ones hardens and becomes brown and brittle with time. Can be chemically removed from the aloy discs with Evo-stick adhesive cleaner and a lot of rags and elbow grease. Didn't want to try it on the plastic caps in case it melted them. BUT the later Fondmetal centres use a different adhesive (Tigerseal?) which makes it a bugger to get the disc off without ruining it. OK, I stand corrected. I had assumed that the T-Sport were the same construction as the GT and the Red/Black edition which also had Fondmetal wheels.
  7. I belive the T-Sport centre is similar to the GT ones I have. The centre is in two parts. The plastic cap (With the clips on the back) and a stuck on alloy disc with the logo. No need to sand off the T-Sport logo. Just put a flexible blade under the edge of the alloy logo and work it round until you have cut the old adhesive (Evo-stick type). You may even be able to salvage the disc Then scrape and sand off the residue before painting ready for the new graphics
  8. Happy 2 Anniversary trophytr5!

  9. Try R A Roan in Peterborough (Google them). They did some alloy welding on the Triumph engine which was a good piece of work. However, they were a lot smaller firm then (20 years ago!) and may not now be interested in small one-off jobs
  10. I was always taught that "orange peel" was the result of faulty technique. But see "Remedy" below http://pc.dupont.com/dpc/en/US/html/visitor/s/trouble/PDSG_OrangePeel.html
  11. Mirror fixing pads? Double sided, sticky as anything and probably waterproof. B&Q or similar
  12. The bike wheels don't buckle like the Fonduemetal ones on the G7 GT. Even with inadvertent trip off-road over a drainage gully. Bent the seat base though!!
  13. I had a buckled wheel (brick on road). Straightened by Peterborough Trim Repairs. Same day - £45 It was worse on the inside than the outside (hardly noticeable there), so they left the outside alone to save damaging the paint.
  14. Happy Anniversary trophytr5!

  15. From the instructions, it looks like you need 2 cans (metallic base and candy) plus, "for best results", another one of lacquer. £29.97 plus VAT plus P&P Ouch!
  16. What my father used to call a Birmingham Screwdriver. Sorry Brummies!!
  17. Not quite from new. I bought my gen 7 GT in January 08 from the Peterborough Mr T, pre-registered on a 56 plate and with 38 miles on the clock. £17,495 and I got such a good price on the T-Sport trade-in that they couldn't shift it and had to pass it off to another branch. Any one got GU53 MZL?
  18. And don't forget, plenty of WD40/PlusGas and, if you can, heat. The caliper will probably expand more than the bolt, loosening it's grip.
  19. Is a bolt or a set screw? Bolts have nuts on the other side so if you remove the head it should drop out. If it's a set, then it's screwed into the caliper and removing the head will not get you anywhere. Try, if you can get at it, filing new flats on the bolt, assuming it's mild steel. and using a smaller spanner
  20. Had a similar thing happen on the Trophy (avatar) many years ago. The top of the carburettor came unscrewed, due to wear in the retaining clip, and she went on full throttle. Overrevved before I could hit the kill switch and snapped the crankshaft. Luckily everything stayed inside the crankcases.
  21. You're not being greedy at all. Unless you agreed that he could use it for advertising, he has infringed your copyright on the photo(s) and you would be within your rights to demand compensation like the movie and music industries are doing!
  22. How much was the delivery charge originally? This should be the amount he will not refund to you. If it is significant, i.e you don't want to write it off to experience, after you recieve the refund, send him a letter (recorded delivery) demanding the missing money. If he refuses or, after a reasonable period, doesn't respond, go to the Money Claim On-Line (part of HM Courts Service) (https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/web/mcol/welcome and https://www.gov.uk/make-court-claim-for-money/overview) and issue a small claim against him for the missing amount and the MCOL fee. I have used this service a few times and had no problems. Even had to get the bailiffs out to one guy, but always got my money back Good luck Dave
  23. Can we consolidate requests and information at this thread?
  24. I contacted Fondmetal about the caps for GT/TSport/Red wheels, wondering is they have any stock of "unlogo'd" caps. They referred me to a supplier in Leicester who can supply them at £4.50 each plus VAT (and presuamably p+p). Anyone else interested?
