Hi, Im thinking of getting one for two reasons. Curing VHT paint and also for the odd paint touch up (low heat). I've found this one from screwfix. Does anybody know if it will do the job? So ive had a look and cant find any candy red for calipers. The closest thing I found was a video about painting any colour calipers. It basically said to use: 1. VHT primer 2. 2k Base Coat (silver) 3. Candy colour (non vht) 4. VHT clear coat. Thats interesting, I presume the bottom and top layer protect the middle ones. The only issue there is VHT paint needs heat to cure so putting the calipers on will be messey as the paint will still be sticky. Any ideas?

Thanks for the replies. That makes sense Lex. I realised hoody used paint specific for high heat on the calipers so im going to have another look on ebay and other places for caliper paint. Its exactly as you said, plain red is abit boring and I dont really fancy risking spoiling my Wilwoods for plain red. Candy red tips the scale slightly so I thought id have a go.

What I'm getting at is did you use the same Halford plastic primer, Nissan silver and lacquer on the calipers?

Lex what do you call proper paint? Hoody that looks awesome. So you didnt bother with their own primer, base paint, or lacquer? Im interested in what exactly you used on the calipers (layers etc)

I cant see it generating that much heat unless used on a track. Id be using VHT base coat but the rest would probably be standard paint. Their postage costs are insane. Ive found them on ebay selling the "kit". Silver base coat, candy colour, and a lacquer for £32 + £7.99 postage. If I put the same stuff in the basket on their website it works out to £60.56 !! Base Coat £8.99 Candy Colour £9.99 Clear coat £16.49 VAT £10.09 Post £15

Thanks, thats good to know. Id be using it with a base coat of VHT paint or something. Its for calipers so im not really sure thats necessary either. I have some regular halfords lacquer I can use too.
