It is all to do with the density of air, the colder the air, the more dense it is. The denser the air, the more oxygen it contains. The more oxygen in the engine, the more fuel can be burnt. The more fuel combusting, the more power produced.
So yeah, it matters, and don't trust that garage!
Look in the meets section for the Blyton day. Ideal for starters with plenty of run off, like minded people on track with you and tuition available. I know it is a bit of a trek like but £85 is cheap!
I was certain mine was top end too, took it toyota who reckoned it was piston gudgeon pins, all I know is that when it let go you could limp it home but plumes of smoke out of the back and it was knocking it's ass off
Sorry to say it but sounds like a big end issue to me. My starlet did it, rattle on startup and at about 2500-300rpm but sounded like the top end. It sounded like I had left a spanner on the rocker cover lol. Used oil and was down on power.
Went with Steve (silversurfer) to go get him a new engine for his 140 (death rattle) and one for mine (got one with 29k miles on), turned out to be great timing as mine gave way on the way home
That is a strange one David, I just did mine as I always do, FT (fcking tight) and they seem fine. My only issue from the weekend is a spongy brake pedal but I will just change the fluid this weekend
Hiya,
My 1996 Gen6 got far less advisories than that
To sell or not you need to ask yourself:
Will you miss it?
What would you get?
What reason do you haev to sell other than falling out of love?
Does anyone need anything collecting from Nix that is near to Leeds?
I am going over on Saturday, so if anyone wants anything bringing back to Leeds I have no problems collecting from them. Bearing in mind I will have a set of alloys in the car so space will be slightly restricted, but if it saves postage costs I will happily bring stuff back
