  1. No worries. If another batch crop up, then let me know if I can help. The offer is an open one.
  2. How many you talking Saddle? If noone is coming all the way, if someone can get them to Bristol by next Friday (20th) evening, i can take them on to the meet from here.
  3. Sad to hear. Definitely make what you can out of it then!
  4. It might be that they "only" Cat D it based on how much it would likely cost to repair. Unless there's some structural issues too :S If that's the case, you'll probably be able to keep the car and get a payout from his insurance (after a bit of wrangling and a few visits from the money men). If you can do that then use the money to get it back on the road you could come out on top. Some new mods perhaps? A colleague of mine got hit whilst driving through some traffic calming in his T plate Polo. He drove it home and sorned it. It has just been declared Cat D and he got £1700 for the car. The insurers said they couldn't be bothered to recover it due to its low value. So it's now been stripped for scrap.
  5. If you haven't already (i've not checked the thread this morning), it might be worth posting your request to transport the bonnet down in the anniversary meet thread. I thought I'd read that SuperSai and a few others are coming from that sort of way! Good luck with it. Did it knacker the wheels too?
  6. That explains it. Thought the cover in the centre looked a bit more oval shaped. Clever idea. Was fitting it all a bugger too? I've got a few ideas for them but would definitely have to shunt it to someone like Diablo to execute any wiring or fitting.
  7. Serratia, Liking the style and the lift markings on your rev counter. Does your needle change colour too? Also, looking towards Mook and Diablo here. I've seen rev needles and counters that illuminate an LED when you hit lift (e.g. glow red), would it be possible to do a two stage version? Where it would go yellow or amber when in lift and then red a couple of hundred rpm before the redline. What'd you think?
  8. Sorry to hear about your accident Arizona. Hope the head is beginning to feel better. Will keep my fingers crossed that your car is mendable too.
  9. Gimba's link is a good source. I would recommend looking on DeviantArt for a guy called Dangerruss. He's done all sorts of 3D and Vexel art for things as big as the Forza Motorsports games on Xbox. I have done Vexel before but I found it really tough. I can give it a crack for you if you like CW, but the time I take might make it unfeasable.
  10. Darn that waskly wabbit! Take some heed in the fact that me seeing the pics has reminded me to put the zipties back in my boot for such occassions! Cheers Hope you get the damage fixed for your photoshoot. Have you considered taxiderming Bugs Bunny and hanging him from your rear tow hook like all the kids seem to with teddies nowadays?
  11. ....and I had to hear about it! They's some schexy wheels though! NOM!
  12. You've hit the nail squarely on the head there Splinter with every element of your post. I've not taken my T-Sport on the track, so have only used lift in the first 3 gears and in clear, reasonably straight areas. Congratulations on joining lift club Gimba, the first rule of lift club is: Shout about it lots and lots!
  13. Nope, I only use lift for "safety" reasons. Good man. My one recommendation for your first time.... Find a long and straight piece of road. Lift hits like a switch and if you're cornering and haven't used it before you could get caught off guard! Be sure to let us know when you've broken 6k rpm. For the rest of us, is it just me that wants to go for a drive even more now?
  14. It might be MOT safe, but a kitten died when it fell off!
  15. Cheers Digital. I ended up getting some PIA Super Silicones from Motaman. They took £2 a blade off for being a member of CCUK. So was happy with that. Just not had chance to get out and fit them yet. Will pop a review on when I've used them for a bit.
  16. Are Opie on here or do you have to go to them direct?
  17. Generally less than 50! 2 wheels and pedals get me to work most days.
  18. Congratulations Dawn! Keeping my fingers crossed that your pride and joy is now safe.
  19. They can check whatever they want on it. Running it on a car for 10 mins would just discolour it enough at the tip and put a could of fit marks at the other end of the pipe. From what friends and family have told me, they tend to look for these outward signs and not too much else. It is still a pot luck endeavour but one that I've known to pay off more than fail. Otherwise it could be a great excuse for a short "golf/skiing" holiday with the missus.
  20. If there's a contact number for the place, give them a call. Ask them if they can unpack it and either rub a little grease over parts of it or run it on a stationary car for 10 minutes. This would class the parts as used and then you would not have to pay the import duties at our border.
  21. She loves the T-Sport. It took so long to find the Celica and as soon as we both saw it we wanted it. I think a big part of it is the fact that it makes me smile every single time I see it, let alone drive it! That makes her happy in itself. When compared to the Ka, she loves it for other reasons too. Most surprisingly she really likes the kick of Lift.
  22. Having just received my pack yesterday I was just wondering the same thing! Thanks for asking Steve.
  23. That's how I spent my Saturday! Shame most of Monday afternoon and evening has been spent with the Celica on a low loader really. At least she sparkled all the way!
  24. An hour from me too Edd! Looks like its the middle of the foward 3 ayxillery belt pulleys has shagged its innards, judging from the side to side movement of that particular pulley and the small iron filings dusted over it and most other bits of the engine bay below it. MrT will be getting an annoyed phone call at 8am tomorrow to come pick her up. UPDATE: All 3 of us (Me, The Girlfriend and of course Celica) are safely aboard the low loader for the trip back to Bristol. Impressed that the RAC got a loader as was expecting them to say front wheel tow only, but apparently they classed a Gen7 as a low car today. Pics and updates will follow when i'm home and want to cry less.. :(
  25. Afternoon all, Anyone around Kiddeminster area this evening? My Gen7 has broken down on the way to Shrewsbury and so i'm parked in the Coop car park on Franche Road. If anyone is around pop down while i wait for RAC to recover it. Happy bank holiday monday all!
