I managed to do a 45mpg mostly motorways with boring drive... Didn't go above 70 and the one way from warrington to stratford london took only 1/4 of the full tank, went to southampton and back to Warrington without filling the tank... Normal driving with mix is between 34 to 36 though and City driving is around 28 to 30mpg...
You will definitely feel the diff. Between the Two as one being on a higher Rev with shorter gear ratio making it feel so responsive and the other having longer gear ratio and makes Your fuel consumption more eco. Specially when at speed limit cruise on A motorway... Unless You drive a JDM 190 with a diff gear ratio as well...
40psi is still within the limit of most tyres Mate so there's nothing wrong with that, You'll just have a horrible ride and I think less grip since Tyres is really hard...
I kept mine to 32 all round but on Motorways I up it to 34 psi when alone or + one passenger...
Think it's better to have higher psi to the front due to engine weight than the rear... That bullock put too much at your rear tyres... must be horrible to drive that...
The thing is we have salt on the road during winter times so there's not much You can do unless You can have it respray or anodised at a higher level of coatings for extra protection.
Steve and Chris are very nice couple, when I was looking for a nice view to drive a round they accompanied me to Cat and Fiddle and even organized a one day noticed meet which generated to 8 members turning up... I can honestly say that they're a credit to the club... Even giving away some parts of they're Gen 7 as long as You collect them... Pretty sure Rob was looked after by them as what He says anyway...
If You go for VW spacers, You will need 2 things... Correct spigot and a longer wheel stud to fit a slot on hubcentric spacers... I don't know why ours is very expensive... Maybe because the setting of our wheels in the wheel arch is tremendously awful and given the looks of our cars being sporty. But bolts on will only need a spigot which will be cheap as chips.
Yeah Mate, The one that came off my Rear wheel was a Sunny tyres and it scares me to death specially when it's wet... haven't tried Kumho in wet weather condition but I'm sure it's so much better than my previous one... I also fitted 215/45/17... There was actually a Matador MP46 there and the review with this brand is very good. I touch the surface of the matador MP46 and I can say that the rubber has a very good grip.
lol.... Nice one Mate... at least You managed to get away without any serious trouble apart from spoiling Your moments with those caressing Music in Your Ears...
Yeah, Those brand names are the top dogs but it's out of my price range so will have to settle for the midrange tyres... And Kumho are having good reviews so far...
Ordered a Pair of Kumho 39 and will be fitted this coming wednesday as I can't wait to change My crap Sunny Tyres at the rear wheels. Just so scary when its Wet and I can't hang on to it til next weekend. Paid 85£ fitted per Tyre and its the cheapest I can get at My Local garage, Can actually get it for 78 fitted but then I have to wait til next Saturday and drive to Macclesfield which is about 30Miles.. 60 round trip and it will work out the same with fuel cost plus the travel time too...
