  1. is200 ? the 6 cylinder ? poignant car to list the is200 is possible to make great things , spunk a couple of grand and you could be upto the same power output as a altezza rs200 at a couple of hundred brake and have lashed out twice the price , make that 5-6 grand and you can have massive unreliability and the same power as a t280 altezza or a greddy turbo kitted rs ,,, the kits what 2 grand ? money for no real reason and to make a lesser car ! so yeah you could turbo it but if it were me id pay less than a grand for a shed 205 and swop eveything over , yeah the box will fit and thats a tough old box and will cope with the power i recon , box`s dont fail they just cruch into 3 after 100,000 miles normally
  2. ah , you sir need to look up the difference between the engines , there are 3 is i remember correctly that matter known as rev3 , 4 and 5 ( rev for revision ) the 3sge and the 3sgte ( turbo lump ) are VERY different , even the block , you cant just lash a turbo manifold onto the end of the block and shout work , takes rather more , lowering of compression as a simple example , much easier to drop a turbo lump in your own understanding 300 bhp and front wheel drive isnt going to be easy to handle
  3. rock up `` i would like a pre mot inspection please `` `` certainly sir , that will be 25 quid `` yes its this simple as everyone else says though , trundle around with your screen caved in and a 20 inch exhaust knowing theres a bit of a4 that says your ok and a computer out there that says NO then your asking for trouble , cops are joyless bastards at the best of times but expect them to be fighting it out across the bonnet of your car for the glory to royally f@ck you in court , after all an mot inspector has already done the suck through the teeth and slow shake of head , this will be recorded , you can argue all you like that pc. excited isnt an mot inspector (do this at the side of the road and they will tow it so dont do that ) but this will cut no ice considering the cops word is golden and your a scruffy 3 nippled local , driving knowing its a death trap ?, lets call it a nice big fine and a colourfull licence so a pre mot inspection is the way to go , also you can moan like a twat if it then goes onto fail the mot as hes already inspected it hasnt he ? so why did he miss it and dontcha think it should pass seeing as you have already looked at it etc etc do this 2 months before the mot runs out then present the car 3 weeks later ( once any works that needs doing is done ) for the real mot , take your current certificate to enable 13 months mot on the car
  4. plastic padding is easily the best , its also very flexable p38 is also good but not as good as pp car plan and general others tend to be cheaper mixs that require more layers to fix issues the air holes occur due to vrs things , a poor mix by the user where the lot isnt blended very well as an example if your refering to tiny pin holes that react when you paint this is down to a couple of things , normally its water in the mix , dust spray before cutting back sorts most of this but using a decent high build primer also kills it off , it can also be down to the blending process on cheap filter or general shit on the filer itself most paint shops sell box`s of spreaders , i wouldnt mix with anything else
  5. its to do with the angle and quantity of the plys within the tyre if you really must know , the sidewall of a tyre works as a shock absorber , get the pressure wrong and that bad boys gunna flex or have its profile altered ( bowing toward run flats ) and thus will have reduced grip , more likelyhood of aquaplaning and increased tread wear
  6. ah over 2 hrs and nowt to show for the trouble lines happily landed , tug off the easy to get at line from the errrrrr from the injector rail ? something around there anyway , the other will need cutting , still tug line off ( easy ) , fit new pipewrok and screw ( super easy ) thread the new pipework neatly down the bulkhead ( pain due to 18 foot of the stuff ) get underneath and suss your not going to be able to work out which pipe is what unless you remove the sheld and given its been there 25 years in the line of fire of shit snow and rain then its going nowhere , snappy nuts ? not on my shift ,,,, so a rethink ,,,aha back to the front , tug the rear off and blow down it yeah and the line thats off will of course be easy to blow , its about 20 minutes before i suss that my heads not 2 inch wide and i havnt got a bit of pipe i can lash on the end to blow down ,,,ya bastard , so its guess and go for it , nothing ventured nothing broken yet ,,,,,,, pipe fitted to the tank and follow the lines yeah ? on pulling back the sheaf i find the reason why its weeping , the lines are rotted , not only the petrol line but the brakes , oh shitfuckbollocksandcrap , the lot need changing , i have neither a flaring tool , brake line or any inclination to go any further , someone else can do it changing the brakes at the same time , no point in changing the fuel line to have someone still have to remove the same stuff another time , i give up
  7. yep 6x13 , should be interesting to bend it then , ive used this on motorbike lines before and its got a bit of give in it after say 10 yrs , sad to say ive still got to drop the tank half off to get the bloody line off to do a neat as possible job
  8. ordered so fingers crossed it lands by saturday , 28 quid including clips to fit it and i ordered 9 meters
  9. AAHAA http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SAE-J30-R6-Unleaded-Reinforced-Rubber-Petrol-Pipe-Nitrile-Diesel-Fuel-Line-Hose-/140644526201?var=&hash=item20bf112879 rubbery stuff so i can bend the dam stuff and follow the original lines ...check thick so when i bounce it off the bazillion rocks we call a driveway it has half a chance of surviving ....check not likely to deposit black shit into the injectors ... check adam is likely to survive a drive out .... check 13mm outside dia is going to be interesting to hide , with the nylon i intended to thread it into the space in between the lines already there but i wont be able now booooo , still got to be done ,another quick look then order and hope for the best i say
  10. proberbly means nitrile , the stuff looks the same , im not worried ok maybe a bit but then again its fully comp and ive got a brand new fire extinguisher that im really proud of , seeeeeeee glass half full aye , lets hope it doesnt fir up the injectors ok im back off to ebay once more dam it
  11. yep know that feeling , the brake lines and the fuel lines converge at the back of the floor pan right in the line of fire of water , shit and dead animals , it then bends off to the passeger side where it runs happily under a plastic sheaf until it hits the front of the car and buggers off where it needs to go , the tubing from the back to the front is however plastic coated so is happily long lasting yeah ? well no as its got half a dozen 10mm bolts holding it up to the car and these bolts go through a feckin mild steel bracket thats untreated , a rust trap of gen 4 proportions , you try and undo a bolt and its snappy happy i can tell you , so you can either break the lot of and drill/retap/wish you had a car ramp or like my goodself rip tie it and pretend its a valid and quality repair if anyone asks
  12. ta hon after a google i found a reference from america that says its 1/4 inch so therefore 6mm , this was on a gen 5 ,,,,, and lucky for yourself in that the tank i have outside is off a st205 and is showing its 6mm internal diameter so it looks like there all the same across the 4/5/6 generations , i know the tanks are near damit identical on the 185 to 205 so its not really a suprise to see the hoses are the same also i have this lined up ( pun not intended ) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FUEL-LINE-PIPE-8-mm-OD-5-metres-long-Nylon-BS5908-FREEPOST-/181153306341?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a2d9416e5 noting its to british standard oh and a previous quote was £200 to have it fitted , parts lets say 20 quid so its only £180 an hour labour ,,,, bargain i suspect the next size up is simply a funnel i used 2mm for vaccy hose , yep its fun to bend
  13. +1 , also had a fair few fitted ( on both my cars right now ) , as has been said they can gather a bit of swarf which stops it darting around the engine blocking oil gantrys , they basically work when the engines turned off after a run , the particules gravitate toward the bolt , on removal you end up with a furry bolt end which can be an arse opener , they cant be made of alloy as its not magnetic but can be made of a composite with iron filling in it which are magnetized , however they feel as heavy as cast on all ive come across
  14. ebay drew up nothing however measured the tanks ends and there showing a diameter of 6 mm with a flare of 8mm on the end , so depending on wall thickness i think im looking to get 8mm tubing at a wall thickness of 2mm , i may aim for more as collapsing of the walls would be a real bitch to suss out and given its already showing starvation i dont want to create yet another variable oh and id simply lower the tank and bodge the new piping on and rip tie it to the existing the length of the car joining as high as poss in the engine bay
  15. simply put what size is the fuel line on your car , i dont care what gen as i suspect there all the same size mine is of course a gen 5 and sure enough the bloody lines are leaking , im on ebay wondering what size to order
  16. about 15 yrs ago i brought a gen 4 as a driver , liked the looks and pop up headlights man ....... then brought anouther because its a jap and i liked the looks etc , a gen 5 then another gen 5 then had a blart in a friends gt4 gen 5 , an import with all the toys ( fresh air cleaner in the roof lining ! ) asnd once id wiped the brown from the seats thought ill get one of them so did , sold to a club member from scotland .... my first contact with the club then brought another 5 ( getting the hint here , pop up headlights dude ) then brought a gen 5 cabs , a rescue jobbie i sorted out then a beams gen 6 ( feckinwonderful car ) then a gen 5 vert feckupthingie then a CS then another beams then another gt4 ,,,,,,,,,,,, i may have missed one or 2 and why ? because i liked the reliability , i loved the looks , i like its just different from everything around , not a sheep more a goat i guess then another
