  1. Happy Anniversary Pingpong64!

  2. Thats very kind of you. ha ha. I may be an MG owner again so can offer some further debate on the handling of the ZS vs Celica! Absolutely! I informed her of the problems I had with the wheels so she is up to date with that. I will be leaving the forum stickers on the car and will mention it to her on Sunday. Its the one outstanding bitter experience from all this, their attitude is out of order. I wrote a letter of complaint to the general manager there, not even a reply of acknowledgement. Nothing. Thing is, I could do a lot of harm to their reputation as a Toyota franchise if I was that sort of person. Particularly on a forum like this. Did I mention it was Toyota Sims of Northampton??? ;-) Time to move on though, but i will come back and see whats happening on occasions. Thanks to all once again for the warm welcome and fantastic support.
  3. Today I sold my Gen 7 Celica after just 6 months difficult ownership. The car was sold with a checkover done by a reputable garage in Milton Keynes (passed with no faults) and the keys will be handed over on Sunday to a lovely lady who simply loves Celica's. It is sold with no regrets though, just wasn't the car for me, but it was important it was sold without faults. Its been a long old ride!! I would like to put it "in writing" to say thank you to all those who supported and encouraged me when going through those extremely difficult times with Toyota Sims in Northampton. Everything has now been resolved and its been fantastic to receive the help from a brilliant forum such as this. Its unlikely I will be back so I would like to wish you all very well for the future and happy Celica motoring.
  4. is there a problem with this thread, the last three do not seem to have any relevance to my topic?
  5. Ive taken it off ebay, just not happening on there. I dont think I have every been successful on ebay, so Im having to bite the bullet and have put it onto Autotrader. I just want it gone now and be able to move on.
  6. Ive changed my post above when I say "future costs", I was meaning personally, not the car. The Celica is no more expensive to run than any other car Ive had, I just need to have something that will get me 50+mpg. Cravo - you would not be wrong in saying the wheel issue put me off to a certain point. To have that for four to five months ongoing is disheartening but I also have to keep it in perspective. I probably should not have bought it in the first place and gone down the economical route instead, now Im seeing that I really do need to go down that line.
  7. Thanks for all the replies. I will try gumtree over the weekend. Ive now removed it from ebay, doubt I will go down that road again. I dont think it was overpriced, mind you everyone looks for a bargain these days so what is a good price anyway. Its shame too, as Im starting to enjoy it, but Im really concerned about future costs (personal not the car) at the moment and need to change asap. The car itself is no more expensive than my MG though but I just need something more fuel efficient.
  8. Nope, never really seen Gumtree as a viable option. Do you believe in it?
  9. Its on ebay, pistonheads and on here. The appeal on a site like this is future owners will have a look rather than targeting existing owners. I may carry on through March then as thats a very good point you make about time of the year.
  10. Im having to sell mine and have had it up for about a month and the interest Ive received is probably the worst with any car Ive owned (and thats probably over 50 now). Im amazed to be honest but looking around I have seen other cars of other makes and models up for sale that were being advertised 6 months ago. I wonder if this is a sign of the continued recession in this country. Where is the best place to sell a car these days? Im on ebay as well but I dont really think of that as the best place to advertise because of all the dodgy extras that come with it (people!) and autotrader seems to be dieing on its feet.
  11. Welcome to Celica Club UK Pingpong64 :)
