  1. Like this bit. What to look for – In general, Toyota models attract mature owners (me) due to long-held reliability and trustworthy perceptions. This is partly true for the Celica, so expect to see well-maintained and cared-for examples with comprehensive service histories. (Definitely mine) The flipside is that the car also attracted boy-racers (or GreyRacers lol.) seeking a bulletproof toy – big exhausts, non-standard wheels, bodykits and performance modifications aren’t uncommon. Only you can decide what’s attractive but remember to factor in insurance and reliability issues when considering a modified car.
  2. The TA28 GT Liftback with the V8 IUZ-FE does more for me. Blitz the 86 in a straight line.
  3. Well let's see. Wimbledon next week, so a picture of your Celica with someting tennis related. Outside a tennis court, racket and balls on the parcel shelf, a nice young blonde in a white short tennis skirt fondling some balls on your bonnet. Anything like that.
  4. Not a bad read this month. Bit of Celica related items and a write-up for the British version of the GT86.
  5. Copy the Fensport in every detail apart from the logos. I already have the Lagoon Blue body. Lol.
  6. TheYE LLOW does shine out on a dull day.
  7. Very nice little write up. I'm in there as well and a nice picture of my blue 7 thanks to Canon4pics. Need to get to the shops now for a copy.
  8. Seconded on Blyton Park. Get over there with Hou and CCUK. Great for the novice as safe run offs and challenging for those who want to push their car's limits as there are technical corners. Very kind on tyres as surface is a race track quality. Brakes can be stressed.
  9. The gels are from Likwidart and the stickers are from Mook, both corp members on here. My gels have been on more than three years and they do not scratch. Prefer the 3-D efect of the Likwidart.
  10. I'm not an engineer but how about a cylinder head gasket that is too thick? Feel free to shoot me down if it's a crap idea.
  11. My method to check the level is pull out the dipstick, clean with paper, put back in, pull out and twist at the same time. You may notice when you put it in that there is some resistance but turn 180 degrees and there is less, this is better and will lead to less smeering. (no laughing by other members please. This is not a sex education site). How many miles have you covered from when it was serviced? If you have gone from full to where you are now you should be concerned. The morning is the best time to check as all the oil will have drained though the engine overnight. I have done about 6 k since my last oil change and I am still full.
  12. When the engine is cold all the oil is in the sump. That is what you are measuring. The level should be at the top mark. If yours is below the bottom mark you are woefully low.
  13. Tree sap. Like the time someone beer canned my car and I did not even win the race. Lol.
  14. 3 years and 5 months for my Gen 7.
  15. As you have a GT which is equiped with TC and ESC then the answer is no. The ESC system measures several parameters and one of them is the rolling distance between front and rear wheels. Unless you spend all of your time running in straight lines along M-Ways then as soon as you drive enthusiastically on the twisties your ESC will prematurely cut in. Normally the ESC will give you a little warning to back off before applying the brakes but with mis-matched rolling distances the system will just engage fully.
  16. well this one was a waste of time so in order to keep this moving along as it is a really good topic I'm changing it to something easy, Your Celica straddling a speed hump. Just take care where you stop.
  17. Nice but nothing new there. Been using Hydrographics dipping for 10 years now.
  18. At least to get to check out the ST over a couple of days. Might be worth giving them an offer.
  19. Even the run out models like mine from late 2006.
  20. Nice job Chris. Should have got you to help me fit mine.
  21. Rich, you are still the only passenger who asked if I even saw the chicane. Lol.
