    The bulb is not powered from the lighter, is just on the same circuit as dash/sidelights. The earth should be white with black trace (I think) and yes it is one of the spade connectors in an L shaped plug. Of course this based on the general way Toyota do things.

    That bit just clips to the rear of the lighter socket and keeps the bulb n stuff tidy. Have you checked the power supply at the plug that goes onto the lighter socket AND the earth?

    Handbrake shoes need looking at? Assuming they have handbrake shoes in the drums like Gen6's do.

    Unfortunately I've sometimes found that even when you think it's full, you can stick the nozzle back in and get a few more litres in. Next challenge is, do 500 miles to a tank

    GT86 is really a 2+2 at least in a Gen7 you can carry passengers.
