Got the second pair of 215s fitted on Saturday. Bloody schisters.

"ooooo dunno if these 'll fit right...... the other two are a bit worn"

Really???????? That IS a GREAT surprise as the other 2 are identical and were fitted in this fecking garage 10 days ago you kn*bhead!

Guess where I def wont be going to get the geometry reset next week?

reposted in case you misread it :)

Just did the final pair of tyres on Saturday. Springs and first pair of tyres were done at beginning of the month.

Bank account needs infusion before any more work! Hence next week I shall be looking for trustworthy person unlike last tosspot!

guys ,

so after the geometry has been checked does the car feel any better than it once was , i mean im looking forward to having the bigger size of tyres size from 205 to 215 as it does feel a bit bumpy on roads , do they get it back to how it came out of the factory or close

Bumpy??? For a coupe I thought as standard it was quite refined. OK it's not Mondeo smooth but if you want that then you have to buy a Mondeo and you don't want to do that! You really don't! You want bumpy you try out my kids FTO now that reaaly does have go kart suspension!

You are very unlikely to feel any difference after geometry correction unless is horrendously out to the extent it would be chewing your tyres. Can't say how much 215 would iron out any bumps as I had the first pair on at the same time as I lowered it. Your car will feel better with new tyres just because they are new anyway just a little more so with the extra rubber.

PS if it's too bumpy for you now then forget lowering completely as even with quality tyres and springs it is noitceably more jiggly. Not rock hard like the FTO but def firmer, it's inevitable.

Well 45's are going to be more forgiving than the 35's i have on mine

I have my spare wheels on at the mo as one of the rotas had a small crack that needed to be welded. Probably due to the stupid low profile tyres these came with. When i need new ones i will be going to 45's which is what i have on these spare ones, much better. Its a small measurement but makes quite a difference

yeah i bet , i know 45s are a lot more comfyier than the 40s and 35s im sure , i really cant wait to feel the difference on better rubber, i had one company send me a email quote and they said they could beat the quote by 10 quid but i would have to have no reciept i said no way i want everything legit , too many cowboys out there ....

I have been running 215/35 on my old car (a vxl too) stretched onto a 9J wheel then I went from the 215/35 on a 7.5j wheel like I said to 225/45 on a 8J wheel the comfort now feels amazing I don't think you'd be uncomrtable at all.

I had mine set up at aviva speed shop in Bridgend done 'the old' way as he believed I would be happier. Bits of tape on the floor and string.the handling had been increased 10xs over since the new wheels and alignments been done.

Is that Ryan air pricing?

Small print so small you can't find it?

Most places I called quote around 20 to check then seperate charge to adjust front &/or rear as required.

If it's for the whole car it looks like a bargain, or is it per wheel???

thats what i thought when i first see the prices , because the millers garage is nearly the same price as ATS with their full package .I live around newbury so im looking around my area and a little bit further , for me swindon/reading would have to be the furthest i would travel .

those garages say they are the latest computerised laser alignment 4 wheel machines and daytona its for the whole car , cant see why its more expensive up there than down here ?

Whilst I have trouble identifying the difference between a monkey wrench and a banana even I can see that setting up all that fandango computer laser stuff, measuring, adjusting the dirty bits, rechecking etc is going to take more than 20 minutes and that is all the time they are charging for. Either they are not doing a full job or they are doing it as a loss leader to try and flog you other goods or services. Check with the guys that know what they are on about here and see what work is actually involved in doing it properly, email said garage and ask if all that is covered and if so book me in for next week please!

ok a quick development , millers garage said they can do it for 60 including the vat on all four wheels so does that sound right chaps ?

so what was the 18 actually for? The cup of coffee whilst they stitched you up?

Devious B'stards!
