£15 is standard London price for fitting tyres.

Kwik-Fit wanted £17 per corner which i thought was odd as they must get so much custom they'd be able to have slightly lower prices...

after lots of calling different places I managed to find one small wheel place that would do them for £10 a corner. ... had to wait around for an hour and a bit though as it was a small place and they were short staffed.

i thought that would be the going rate , so that sorts that but as i said by getting them from a online place only saves for 4 quid so i will see what martian comes back with , do they give you a deal on tyres or do you have to pay full price everywhere

Can you PM me where that place is?

guys ,

one of the local garages can get a full set of falken 914s in 215/45/17s including tracking for 327 quid including vat.

also i asked him that on my advisories from october last year was that i had a slight wearing down on the inner sides on the avon zz3's and would tracking wheel alignment sort it as i said aparently on this model from what i hear but bear in mind it was on the last mot as a advisory and i havent touched it since

would you guys suggest its the tracking at fault maybe , the car doesnt seem to pull i wouldnt say ?

Is that inner sides of the rear tyres pal? The 7 has some pretty beefy neg camber on the rears (which is also slightly increased when lowered) so that's why they wear on the insides quicker.

If you're buying 4 new tyres then rotate them front to back every few thousand miles to get a bit more even wear out of them.

yep thats the rear ones mate , im wondering maybe wheel alignment will help plus i never use my cars for track and dont do too many miles in a year tbh

from oct last year they said these are an advisory and were wearing in then so now which is why i need them replaced all round plus im changing to 215s as well. Its just when i spoke to the guy who might be doing the job for me he said hes never heard of a gen 7 which goes on the insides as much as that but maybe youve explained it mate :).

it doesnt pull violently or feel like the wheels arent balanced so im sure a good wheel alignment (about 15-20 quid for that )

plus with the falkens they have eyes where its time to rotate them like youve mentioned

A "good" wheel alignment (computerised) will cost ITRO £60.

£15-20 is for a very basic alignment.

that maybe kev but thats all weve ever done to all of our cars and thats made an improvement before and like jo3 said the gen7 has always had that very problem and my car isnt lowered yet either .

In that case, wait until a couple of weeks after the car has been lowered for a laser alignment :)

what the difference with the laser type and the normal type and does it make that much difference to the setup, so basically your saying get all the tires fitted and then a week-2 weeks get the tracking done by a proper laser alignment .do they happen to adjust much more than on the normal tracking machine ?

Yes you should let things settle before the full geometry check. Laser alignment is more accurate. Firstly they will check what your car setup really is and produce a print out. Then they will set the parameters to optimum within the specs of your model and give you a final printed read out.

ok guys i will just get the tyres fitted in that case and look around for a specialist in my area , if there was any issues wouldnt i feel it in the driving like trackrod ends etc ?

so they would change things much better then ?

still gonna be on the hunt around for a decent priced four wheel alignment and probably after this week i will get the falken 215s fitted first and then after a few weeks or so get it aligned.are these normally pretty accurate and whats the likelyhood of any new parts needed ..
