tabbaranx Posted 17 October 2012 Report Posted 17 October 2012 Hi Guys, I want to send my centre console, gear surround and clock surround to be wrapped in a Matt carbon style vinyl. Can anyone point in the right direction? Thanks
arizona Posted 17 October 2012 Report Posted 17 October 2012 Get it dipped, far more classy than wrap

rpsmith79 Posted 17 October 2012 Report Posted 17 October 2012 I stopped about a year ago now, profit margins plummeted and too many other outfits offering to do similar jobs for half the price using crap quality eBay vinyl
J03 Posted 17 October 2012 Report Posted 17 October 2012 I know a lad who's just started offering hydro graphics mate, I've text to see if he does a matt CF finish & guide prices if it's something you'd be interested in?
hyper-wrap Posted 17 October 2012 Report Posted 17 October 2012 Can't say I've ever seen a Matte carbon..it's always got a shiny nature to it due to the actual printing process to make the weave apparent. Here's an interior I wrapped a while back anyway Wrapped to keep a consistency between the upper and lower part
oaksey Posted 17 October 2012 Report Posted 17 October 2012 Hi John, Looking good, When you get some prices up, i'll talk the Mrs into me having console done for xmas.
tabbaranx Posted 17 October 2012 Author Report Posted 17 October 2012 (edited) Thanks for the replies people. I was prob talking poop when I said matte carbon and the pics John has posted is exactly the kind I want. Whats the ballpark kinda figure I should be paying to get this done? Can't say I've ever seen a Matte carbon..it's always got a shiny nature to it due to the actual printing process to make the weave apparent. Here's an interior I wrapped a while back anyway Some mighty fine handiwork I see there. J03 Posted 17 October 2012 Report Posted 17 October 2012 Cheers mate, ill hold fire and wait and see, never heard of hydro graphics? What is this trickery?? It's the transfer of graphics to an object using water to suspend the graphic. He's text back & you'd be looking at £60 ish for the centre console in CF finish. Here are a few examples of Hydro graphics:

arizona Posted 18 October 2012 Report Posted 18 October 2012 More pics on here of dipping http://www.wickedcoatings.co.uk/category/image-gallery/cars/interiors
rpsmith79 Posted 18 October 2012 Report Posted 18 October 2012 I'd have a look at dipping close up as it's not to everyone's taste, depending on the contours of the part the pattern can get very distorted and cheap looking It's basically the same look you get when you buy carbon fibre look parts, no. plate holders, gauge pods etc At least with wrap you have the 3D effect which changes in the light, so looks much more realistic
LiamGTR Posted 18 October 2012 Report Posted 18 October 2012 If you're gonna do suck a thing, to such a car, at least dip it so it'll look shiney and at least 1% look like CF
J03 Posted 18 October 2012 Report Posted 18 October 2012 I'm thinking about going corp & offering this as a service guys, would there be plenty of interest?
