whats it worth ?

Recommended Posts

ok call me mr greedy but i need more , its like a drug dude and i got the shakes , id like more go

and so i have been sniffing round vrs cars with sod all sucess , being frank i havnt a real clue what id bang money on the table for , ive bid on this and i intend to bid again , i just cant ignore the power output , its a lets see me get bored with that ! type car , however theres an issue , i also fancy a supra or something v8/v10 something shoutty and angry , something thats requires wipe clean seats , something thats not clearly overpowered , noooo i want vastly overpowered , something that i havnt a hope in hell of keeping control of , theres a list of cars , supra , v10 vw , skylines , A8 , tvr , hell theres a friggin shopping list of fast 10 year old cars for less than 10 grand , however going with what you know i fancy this

its a gt4oc car and i hope its not a members here ( dont want to spoil the sale ) , its had all the sort of stuff id intend to do to any car , id still piss about with it mind ( as you do ) but it ticks boxies , however i dont think its worth the £££ , i dont think its worth 7 grand , ive not got a clue what value id really place on it so im asking you lot what you value it at , i could be deluded or miles off though , theres a fair few 350 bhp cars out there at the minute and every one is less than 4 grand so ?????

i intend to bang another bid on , help me out , give your thoughts on its value for me

Im not sure if a 400BHP celica would really be that scary? Maybe you should consider a test drive.

That does look like a nice clean car with a nice big turbo and all the essensial work done, but like you im not sure If Id be prepared to pay that for it, mine cost a 3rd of that!

If I had 10K to spend it would definatly be a V8, no that I want to put you off getting a faff.

If you want something that scares you, you want RWD, not 4WD

You can pick up E39 M5's for under 10k now - they should do you nicely. RWD, massive V8, and being NA it won't blow up every few months. Blends in with normal cars but can completely destroy nearly anything on the road. And you can even get 25mpg if you're gentle. Serious piece of kit....

My dad has one that he's owned for 8 years and modded the hell out of. I adore it....450+ bhp of V8 RWD monster. And a proper manual gearbox as well, not a crappy auto or tiptronic like everything else seems to have. It doesn't get much better than that.

400 has got to be cool i would have thought , and agreed on the price , its a great car but !!!! theres only so much id pay for a celica , at some point around the 5 grand you start thinking of other cars , at 7 its bung another couple at it and buy a cerbera

had a 740 , hated that car , just awfull , also a friend recently sold his m5 on a 2005 , went out in it and yeh its fast but i felt a right wanker , silevr with red interior , it is just trying to hard , not feeling it at all

Big power big engine mate not a 2.0 turbo cos we all know they will go pop if ya use it often enough. Nice motor but not enough cylinders or CCs thats why your iffffy about it. :)

a toughie , there are little cars that are total killers , my old ren 5 turbo was just plain stupid to drive , on the limits of control , wheelspin in the wet in 4th and 3rd oin the dry , totally undriveable , loved every minute , big cc and lots of pistons normally mean lots of weight , a catch 22 in that you need the bulk but then need big brakes then needed big crumple zones then need etc etc , a small shitty car with a reasonable sized engine wins imo , take corsas with red tops ,,, no i dont want one but i also wouldnt like to try racing one thats for sure

Have you considered a Sierra Cosworth?? 10k would buy you a beast of a cozzie :P:) :)

about the only thing my insurance doesnt cover and thats cozzies ,,, bugger , id have an escort but not a sierra , thats a 4 litre v8 on ebay mind , that rattled the cage but no tax and test

Hi you say it's not worth 7k? Well let me put it like this. A 'good' gt4 sells for 4-5k with basic mods maybe a hybrid tubby etc. This has the full lot forgey, fmic etc etc alot more than 7k even if you buy a cheap gt4 say 3k and spend another 4k that still won't see you near that spec.

Saying that I also fancy this car and I will be damned of I'm paying over 5k for it lol.

This one looks rather nice, currently at £4750. One owner from new, UK car, full Toyota service history and just 69,662 miles.

Mind you, if I had the space and the wife's go-ahead I'd be seriously considering this older, slower car with a sweet numberplate!

Really? Looks lovely to me, and if the description and the pics are OK I would have thought it will be worth a few quid.

When you look at the cost of new cars (my wife's Aygo Blue cost over £10,000) something like that car looks to be a bargain.

Even mint condition Gen 5 Carlos Sainz only go for about £3K, just because it came over from Australia doesn't mean you can add 1K to the price tag

Not to mention the owner bought this car for about £2k off a GT4OC member only a few months ago and he now wants £4K :(
