Never had a gen7 so cant really comment,had 2 faffs did 18000 mls in the 1st one in 12 months,3 x oil changes 3 x sets plugs,2 x bottom arms,no other problems,my current one I have done 8000 mls in a year 2 x oil changes plugs & leads,clutch went after I had done 1000 mls ( bummer) choose one wisely and you will not be disappointed,just been to Heathrow & back after not driving it for 3 weeks and boy does it put a smile on your face,as Derren said drive a decent one before you make a decision also drive a gen 7 see which you could live with,I know which one I could not live without !!!!

Your mate could drive it with his policy,you really need to put the dead battery on a trickle charge for 24 hours that will sort it

She hates the faff,loves her gen 5 to bit,s she says it,s quicker than the faff !!but she has never driven it

Had 2 gen 6 gt4s 1st one I did 21k in the year I had it,the car was 13 yrs old then,4 x oil changes,4 x sets plugs,both front s/s bottom arms & fig 8s,the s/s was due for changing anyway,was what it cost me,seems your gt4 was unlucky having the c/cooler go, my gt4 I have now the clutch popped within 500mls what the heck,if you want a faff you dont worry about fuel economy its a fooking performance car,you dont buy a M3,Porsche,Audi RS,or the likes on mpg,people are forever asking for running cost,s from gt4 owners,do your homework when buying get a nice one it will treat you well amd always put a smile on your face,how many 10-15 year old cars can still do that today & still blow the majority of new stuff into the weeds in standard form ?? Bite the bullet get a faff

Ita an easy job torque setting in the wikki I think,make sure you put a little sealer on the faces,decent stuff,and away you go after about 500-1000 miles re-torque thats what i do should be no problem

Izzzy it is what the car is worth to you,if you spent £4k like Lewis said you would spend twice that to get to this spec,I would be wanting to pay £5-£6 for that car imerterial what he has spent,its what its worth to you
