  2. Happy Anniversary mrsoundcraft!

  3. The last time I looked this up I was lead to believe that if your old MOT was still valid the car was still drivable, even with a fail, the garages Ive used never had a problem with me driving a car they had just failed. These falures were on emmisions, so the safety of the car was never really questioned. Anyway here's another issue. It is not illegal to drive a car with no MOT or Tax to a pre booked MOT apointment at a garage. How does that one work? Recently I sold a car without an MOT to someone who then drove it all the way to Hartlepool for an MOT, I thought that was stretching it a bit but apparenlty its legal.
  4. Happy Anniversary mrsoundcraft!

  5. If you can get pay out, and they let you keep the car then it could be sellable to someone looking to build a track car.
  6. That is the real deal! I'd love to see those up close.
  7. RMS Engineering use Carrick engineering to do the wheel refurb. I had a set done a few years ago and they looked brand new after.
  8. I dont have a clip but there's a green gen 5 near the start of Transporter 3.
  9. I know this is not the best advice, but it worked for me. A few years ago I had a GT that gave me the same problem. I starded mine by craking it over with my foot fully down on the accelerator. As long as you have a full battery to start with, you should be able to keep the starter going for about a minute, mine would always start eventualy, usualy on 1 or 2 cylinders before picking up on all 4. After that the car would run fine. Only problem is you might burn the starter out.
  10. Happy Birthday CCUK, we're all very lucky to have such a good forum. Where's our birthday present from Toyota?
  11. have a look in you're boot it might be that thing you found it there and said to your self "whats that?"
  12. But what does it do? Ive had one in storage for years.
  13. I think this dilema is a good test of how commited you are to Celicas. Obviously there are quite a few people on here that have had many celicas and keep coming back for more. Im one of them, its hard to describe why, when there's so many other nice cars out there for the same money, Im currently thinking "I could swap this for an Jag or an IS200 or a Supra or a good diesel" but I cant do it. So if you get the Impreza and after a few weeks you absolutely love it, and dont miss the Celica then there's your answer. But if you find that the Imprezza lacks that special something the Celica had then you know you're one of the mad cru and you wont be able to part with it.
  14. Ah, I think mine were Ventus Prime, maybe thats why.
  15. I agree fully with all this. I had a pair of hankooks a few years ago on a ST202. They were impressive from the first drive but I had a lot of negitive camber, the insides wore in less than 10K and then it was dodgy in the rain and snow. So a very good tyre but quite soft so wear quickly
  16. Just after I shell out for a sealey charger! Never mind I'll try and get one of these aswell. thanks Kev.
  17. That would be OK, and make a pretty good project, but if you decide to go a bit further and swap the shells over then you cant tell anyone.
  18. I would have hated to hear the sound it made when it did it! how's the repair going?
  19. Its the only car I have on the road at the moment, usualy 1.5 tanks per month and about 100 milles per week but sometimes more. Spend more time driving vans unfortunatly.
  20. Oh dear! I didnt know the van let you down. Bloody vans!
  21. The Celica is the car I'd rather own. I have a friend with a track prepared Imprezza, Its pretty quick, recon ist got the same sort of shove as my Faff. Anyway we were both at a track day and I gave him a go of my Volvo 340, and without asking him, he said it was more fun than his scooby! I was quite happy about that, Its only got 70bhp. Its a bit of a dangerous suggestion but maybe you should give this guy a shot of a Celica, it might change his mind. I dont think you can even listen to anyone's opinion on a car unless you know the've actualy driven one. Scooby's Understear anyway (aparently, but I wouldnt know )
  22. OK, OK so from 1 particular angle the GT4 bonet does look like a thum thats been hit by a hammer and swolen just above the nail. But you need to be standing in the wrong place to see it like that. Come on the grilles make it look more aggressive. Its at this point that I have to admit that the main reason I got a GT 4 was because of the grilles. Yes the 4WD, 4pots and turbo is nice to have too but its realy all about the vents! This rule also applies to the early Sierra cosworths and Escort cosworths.
  23. I suppose Kilmarnock Isnt that far north, but anyway you're all welcome here Doesnt even have to be a Sunday!
  24. I think you've got to sell that lovely white car you've got if you want a GTfour. Trying to run both would likely swallow all your cash. Although with the car you currently have I understand how you could really struggle to part with it. It looks really good, not to mension the time that's went into it. You will always have the photos to look back on though and I think as a Celica nut you may look back in years to come and wish you'd tried out the Top of the range (sorry to anyone who dissagrees). To me the gen 6 GT4 is the ultimate Celica, and after 4 GTs I knew I had to own one and Im so glad I have the car.
