  1. Did have a grey spoiler - but just sold a few days ago. As long as there are no sharp edges then it will pass mot. Is the light cracked? Even if it is - if it doesn't let out white light you can repair it with Sellotape to get it through. If it is letting white light through you can buy red/ amber coloured lens tape. That rear quarter can be repaired - replacing it wouldn't be worth it - my red one was hit and run on rear quarter as well and we repaired it - probably looking at £400 - £600 for repairing it I do have a 3 post spoiler in blue and also a nice Jdm replica in primer
  2. this is how id see it playing out you sell the 7 you buy a gt4 - run it for 6 months and think fook this is expensive - fuel and potentially repairs you then sell the gt4 and buy a diesel as it swings you the other way couple of years later you try to buy another 7 - but cant find one as good as the one you have the g7 for me is a very hard car to replace as a daily good MPG super reliable good looking comfortable can take 4 people when desperate very practical - can fit most things in the car with back seats down fwd - so you dont get totally stuck in the snow not a smelly diesel reasonably quick Id have changed it years ago, if there was anything that ticked all these boxes - civic type r comes close but mrs says its ugly
  3. Those who are a bit older will remember that cars used to have a service every 6000 miles / 6 months. Engines and oil haven't changed that much - if anything things like egr mean the oil gets dirtier quicker
  4. My 7 is 14 years old and very good other than the wear to components because it has 220,000 miles but saying that I drove a 60k gen7 that was 3 years newer and it drove loads worse than mine in terms of engine and suspension , plenty of good ones out there still and suspect 3 years time it still won't be too difficult
  5. The worry is wear does anything that's dislodged end up. For example when I'm cleaning pistons, I take them out and soak them to remove any build up, after a few hours what is left is a sticky mucky residue in the bottom if the bucket - now if you get the same affect with a flush and that stuff gets pumped around the engine - not all of it is going to drop back into the sump . Regular oil changes are the best thing in my opinion. I have a theory on why manufacturers no set service intervals to 18,000 with so called long life oil - ultimately it will lead to engine failure at around 150k - meaning they can sell more cars - open up a modern engine on 100k that's had 18k changes and you can see why .
  6. If it's just the rears and it's fitting the springs to the shockers - you could post the springs to me and I'll fit them on some good used shockers - and just pay for the shockers and post
  7. Is it just the rears? Where abouts are you? Is the problem he is having fitting the springs to shocks or fitting the shocks back on the car. Can you get a description of the fitting issue from mechanic please.
  8. I have bumpers for £10 but they all need painting are you selling the towbar?
  9. I only charge £10 - £15 for an oil and filter change if you bring the parts, Im in smethwick
  10. Yep - Ive had the same with VW here - they will not help at all - Ive called up toyota before to check part numbers from other cars in case I have a cross match from one of the cars ive broken and theyve been happy to help.
  11. Only celica ive seen with problematic hoses was a gen7 with superstrut and braided lines - it did kind of put me off braided lines
  12. I normally charge £110, I am in Birmingham
  13. only reason I prefer leather is that I jump in and out my car a lot - leather is very easy to clean compared to cloth
  14. Paisley is just an agent for Tnt - I send direct with TNT
  15. if its a big item - make sure its packed properly - all couriers throw parcels around also - every courier loses parcels - yodel./collect+ seem too loose more than most - not had hermes loose one in the last 6+ months
  16. hermes and paisley - Ive never had a problem and I send may 5-15 parcel with them a week - what problems have you had. Most of the time problems are down to sending parts that are not appropriately packed - or sending items that are easily prone to damage and too hard to securely pack - dont send doors, bonnets, tailgates - wings are a maybe if you can pack properly
  17. if you can come over on saturday - you can try a gen7 switch to see if cures the problem
  18. if thats with the rubber off it looks similar
  19. Can you post up a pic of the switch - just wondering of a g7 one is the same
  20. A lot of new ones are supplied with zip ties / tie bands
  21. In my experience - if you just use Toyota stuff - you generally don't get leaks - my car is on 219,000 and it's all original - water pump , matrix , radiator. From other Toyotas I've had - I've often found that the water pump and or rad often started leaking after putting non-genuine coolant in. I have also found that on the majority of customers cars that I change rads / water pumps on the stuff that's in there isn't genuine Toyota. It's £16 more than other stuff - ready mixed so you get the concentration correct - that's around 2 days petrol for most people - it doesn't need changing that often so spend a little more and hopefully it will save you more. It's been debated a few times
  22. buy the genuine stuff - it will be cheaper in the long run
  23. And the gen7 steering wheel - and the sony double din
