  1. You're welcome. Betty's booked in for a pre JAE fettling next week as there is a niggling little rattle from the underneath and I have some gear linkages and oil and depending on cross Atlantic post, plugs to fit too. The guy that looks like a grubby Gandalf in the spray shop next door is good to know too as is Nick Abbot for electrics.
  2. Regrettably my mechanical knowledge can be written on a stamp......... without getting the Queen's face dirty . If you can't get one of the crew down and you need something fixed then I get my work done by Simon at Westhill Garage, top of Chatto Road in Torquay. He's the owner and hubby of one of our secretaries. Tell him I sent you and you will be looked after. He is usually busy though. Good garages that don't rip you off are!
  3. You doing this yourself or having your wallet lifted by your local garage? Doobiewassisname has just done one. The guy with the partner that have sweet matching lagoon blues??? ah ha! page 6 on of rsvr boys mod thread.
  4. argh too late! Ordered Spectres suggestion. Never mind.
  5. As I didnt get a consistent resposne to my plug enquiry on the gen 7 thread, post moderating (sorrrrry) I recalled MYK speaking highly of Halo so looked on ebay where Mrs Crewchief was advertising Halo's for Camaros. I emailed her direct and she confirmed she has just obtained some for celicas (dont know if all models covered. They are still over in storage in USA and she is working out postage. I have just posted a message on here on crewchief corporate thread. Feel free to do the same!
  6. I have not used them before but they come very highly recommended. Check out Crewchief thread on corporate suppliers.
  7. If it was grey or red maybe I would just wash and wax but the Storm Blue just screams every blemish . Well it says guaranteed match, have supply of toothpicks, some alcohol (rubbing) & I have a couple of weekends before JAE so I can turn up minus chips but plus bugs all over front? We'll see! Cheers
  8. Reviews pretty varied. I have a few bonnet and bumper chips (plus door edge where previous owner seems to have banged it repeatedly against wall) to sort out. What's available in Storm Blue and what gives best results please?
  9. not unreasonable as that is how I typed it 1st!

  14. Best black one w reg or indeed any age going by photos. Are you photoshopping the chips out??? Storm blue metallic is a bitch to get chips out of! That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! The only public comment was from plod who pulled me when I forgot to turn the Kit lights off. "Very tidy sir, but I have to admit I was expecting a 19 year old to wind the window down" Pffffft!
  15. Yeah, on the treadmill working off the weekends excesses!!!! They would do you for that in Norfolk, apparently.....If they could catch you. mmmmm Nice!

  20. Freaky Parts will do you a good price on Mtec, I think they were. A little over 200 for grooved & pads and a set of braided hoses which I think are usually around 60. Same price for grooved / drilled as flat. The only prob with oem is in reality they are just a bit small for the job and the calipers are weedy. The only real ways to get better stopping power is to beef up the calipers & or bigger discs but you can improve the travel a bit by braided hoses and esp a brace between the master cylinder and bulkhead which is about £40 usually and was the best value improvement when I replaced mine. It reduces the flex in the system and cut the travel before bite by a third to a half. ps if you are going for looks I recommend you paint the hubs at least before fitting as they all corrode. I will remember next time!!!
  21. When buying from FP was advised D&G can be suspect under extreme conditions. Grooved only, help clear water. Not had any noise from mine
  22. My guys cheap and bordering adequate, usually about 100-150 for a bumper or panel so 400 for a reasonable job is fine.
