  1. i will be driving on my favourite road on saterday with a few mates, its a good 25 miles with hardly a straight worth talking about plenty of long sweeping esses. We are going to a track day to watch so the drive back will be interesting lol
  2. every timing belt ive done on these (a lot) ive noticed the oil pump bolts are needing nipped up, most times there is a small leak from them, it can hit the exhaust eventually. a steam clean may reveal something ? has it got a cat in it? they smell when they are going but are more of an eggy/cat pish smell
  3. Happy 3 Anniversary SKINY!

  7. yea, sliders and pistons are sat in coke now, works well then a bit of fine sandpaper and then fine wire wool and they will be good as new got the Toyota seal kit here and some red rubber grease, going to get some more grease ordered. the most important part of rebuilding calipers is making sure the seal seats are spotless. These ones are pretty clean but still need a wee wire brush.

  11. yea my faff calipers are sat looking at me here lol, can get the avensis discs for 56£ all in, wood still need rebuilding and fitting kit and pads. oh and the small matter of having the car fitted to the wider rims as the current rims wont clear the faff calipers
  12. right, the slider screws into the carrier folks. it was seized solid and took a small jemy bar to get it round that far  so i didnt seize it anymore, as soon as it came free the slider pin just turned inside it im not worried about the seals as im re-building them
  13. Toyota say the sleeve and slider are part of the caliper and not available separate he then tried me for a new caliper at 180£ lol. Its going to an engineering place after work tomorrow, they have all sorts off splitters and pullers and heat!
  14. no plusgas but i will take it into work and get the fitter to have a go with the oxy/acetalene torch, that maybe do it  going to Toyota after work see can i order 2 new sliders and the caliper sleves too, then just a matter of getting the puller out. well theres the swearing too have you got a passenger side caliper about you Paul ?
