I have an Astra. It's is sh!t... I had an old GTE once. That was ok I guess. One things for sure, they can't go aroun corners new or old. Bloody uncomfy too. My Astra is a brand new company job my Celica is 20 years old. Celica is a better car but then look at the comparative list price of the time. Astra does te job but I hate it with a passion. I have a mate who is exactly the same I'm afraid. I don't bother talking too him too much these days. Think a lot of it stems from jealousy or the possibility of a small winky. Do what you want to your car, after all it is yours and tell your mate to go do one if he starts putting what you do down. I have just started modding mine after 10 years odd of ownership. Just dropped in a new engine. All because I wanted to. Astra's truly are crap. Trust me, I drive the bloody thing alot (55K a year) you have a better car

According to my V5 I won't have the other vehicle V5 so it looks like I will be stuck with a cat. I didn't know if it could e done via the engine number. Ah well. Bang goes that idea

Hi, Swapping out my engine in a couple of weeks time. With regards to informing dvla and insurance I'm guessing it needs to be done.. What I'm interested in is that the engine is pre 92 whereas my car is on a K plate. Will I still need a cat?... Cheers,

As Adex has mentioned you will still need to bleed the brakes. Without fail. I would normally replace the fluid if its not been done for a while tbh. I risked it once and had complete break faliure at about 70 on the M27. Frantically pumped the brakes and got them back. Not worth not doing properly fella

Here is a tip. Put cling film over the top of the reservoir and then screw the cap on. As long as its a complete seal you loose virtually no fluid

I have them for my Gen5 although still to fit them... Most people I have spoken to rate them. Cheapest I found was Camskill although that was a while ago so somebody else may be as competitive...

I didn't know it existed until I saw the Gt86 promo thing. Favorita car previously apart from a Gen5 was the E type. Despite being a bit rubbish to drive and tricky to get out of. (my elderly neighbour has one and I sometimes take him out in it for a drive) However I think this is the best looking car I think I have ever seen!...
