  1. Happy 11 Anniversary Nemesis!

  2. I've used that myself & it does seem good, a lot cheaper on their website but only used it after I have used a rust converter first http://www.rust.co.uk/buy-fe-123-best-in-every-test-/p405034/ What you linked to I used after I had converted the rust as a top coat http://www.rust.co.uk/buy-epoxy-mastic/p404984
  3. Where is the best place to get aircon recharged? Halfords do it for £30 but dont know if I would trust them to do a proper job

  7. I posted details up in the Japfest thread but wondering what the best fuel economy you have ever got out of your car After Japfest was over I drove down to see family & stay over the Saturday night & drive home Sunday afternoon I filled up & just about topped the tank Sunday morning before going to see my parents, sister & brother in law again in the morning before driving home Heres the receipt I did a total of 9 miles before the drive home & the total for the run was 214 but when I got home I had to top the tank again as the gauge was just below 3/4 full & wanted to know the actual economy I actually slightly over filled the tank as there was a little running out at the bottom, had also forgotten to change the time for BST so the time stamp was an hour out The total fuel used was 23.64 litres for the 214 trip This works out at 5.2070 gallons (litres divided by 4.54 to convert to gallons) [edited to 4.54 not 2.54 doh] So the MPG worked out at 41.098 which is a lot higher than I ever managed before In theory I would be able to drive a staggering 542.5 miles on a full tank Also interesting that Shell fuel is 3p a litre more expensive in the south than in Yorkshire Whats the best you have managed?
  8. Looks like I will need to do a bit more research before I get anything
  9. With the amount of spraying I need to do over time would cost many hundreds of pounds so want to get the kit as going forward will want to spray the alloys in a fre different colours to try & get the best colour I'm happy with I knew I needed something else
  10. I have a little rust on the nearside rear wheel arch I need to sort out in the summer so am going to buy proper experiment to spray the repair & not use rattle cans. Any advice on what I should get? As far as I know I will need a compressor, spray gun & hose as well as something to heat the garage to the correct temperature for spraying. A long time ago I spoke to someone about it as also want to spray my front & rear lips as well as a new set of side skirts & he recommended a certain type of compressor which I think was oil free maybe something like this http://www.machinema...-litre-oil-free What type of spray gun should I get, a suction feed gun or gravity fed? I also want to respray my alloys at some point as the 17"s are pealing & do a complete refurb on my 19"s as well so will have plenty of use for the equipment & I think its worth the investment I don't want to spend too much on the equipment as don't intend to spray the whole car, well at least not for a few years & don't need a massive tank on the compressor as wouldn't respray the whole car in one go anyway as my garage isn't big enough for that. Anyone done this before, I could do with advice on spraying technique as well as only done it with rattle cans in the past & got good results but they don't last as rattle cans arnt the best thing to use & I need the correct temp to bake the paint when done. Before I start any spraying I know to make sure the garage as as dust free as possible so will put up plastic sheeting & spray the floor with water (aparantly this would draw any dust left out of the air, so I have been told) & make sure I use a mask to not get high on the paint fumes
  11. Hopefully found the problem, car wouldnt start again this morning so had to call out rescue again, they were very good & arrived in less than a half hour. After trying to start the car for 20 minutes & the mechanic going through several options I heard a slight sparking noise while he was trying to start the car & it was traced to the ignition lead on the coil, a good soaking of WD40 got the car going so now have a new set of leads on order. Hopefully this will cure the problem & not find another one later in the week
  12. I did get some Jet fuel a couple of weeks ago but back to using shell now, I did think it might be bad fuel but will have to use all thats in the tank first, not sure how long that will take as still off sick from work & not using the car much I'm going to order a new set of Halo plugs from Crewchief Not even sure where they all are I had a look for ignition lacquer on google & couldnt find any mention of it, nor ebay for that matter. Any idea where I could get some? I assume it would also be worth giving the electrics a spray of wd40 just in case The car is overdue for a service but dont have the money at the moment so will have to try a few things like changing the plugs first
  13. Sorry forgot about this post as when rescue turned up the car started first time although it did cough a bit before the engine started. Sort of same thing happened again this morning. The car started this time & coughed a bit before getting going then cut out twice in the first mile on my way to an appointment, after the appointment it coughed again when starting but then ran fine. No idea whats wrong with it
  14. Well for the first time ever my car wont start no idea whats wrong wrong with it so have called out Flux rescue to see if they can get it going again. She was running fine yesterday but now wont fire probably something simple but will have to wait & see & just hope it isnt something costly
  15. Happy Anniversary Nemesis!

  16. I wasnt charged anything extra when I told the insurance company I had bought a set of 19" Team Dynamics alloys for the car
  17. Are you bringing your flocking machine with you? would be a good demo I I have a couple of bits you could use to show how its done
  18. I need a set of new 17" tyres for the mot next month & never know what to get which will give good grip as well as last a decent length of time, I had Toyo T-1S for my 19" alloys which only lasted a few years even though I dont do a lot of mileage with them on so was a little disappointed although the grip was very good. I'm thinking of getting a set of Toyo T1R Proxes as they are a reasonable price on camskill at just over £80 each but wondering if there is anything better for the same price or cheaper & if anyone knows of any offers on decent tyres at the moment
  19. If times not an issue I could pick them up at Rising Sun show in early May as shes going to the show & bring them down with me the following weekend to Japfest. I'm staying at Chippenham services on the Friday night (the 13th) & could meet you at Junction 18 of the M4 late afternoon if thats any good
  20. Just waiting for the membership cards to arrive, hopefully I will get them in the morning & will get all the packs put together & posted before last collection tomorrow
  21. The membership pages are on the top of the forum on the right in the black header Heres the link to the page you need http://www.celica-club.co.uk/forum/index.php?app=ccs&module=pages&section=pages&folder=&id=8
  22. Went to check the tyre pressures today as got a long run in the morning & couldnt get the metal valve covers off no matter how hard I tried & ended up loosing the seal of the valve itself so bit of a panic to get the wheels changed over to a spare set didnt help I had a full day which went down hill from that point on If anyone has metal covers on their valves might be worth checking them as I assume it was the salt on the roads last month which caused the problem & better to find out now than when you need to get some air into the tyres. Good job really as when I took the old alloys off I found the tracking was a little out & the tyres on the front were nearly illegal
  23. Or anyone whos gone to a show, sure there will be a post with it soon
