  1. I have 2 sitting outside that could do with a wash, i'm sure knowing that you couldnt possibly settle for the night.... it is raining a bit and a tadge windy but i'll leave some soapy water in a bucket for you outside
  2. Reckon after first month you'd miss the practicality of the truck
  3. Yep nuts, me too but the other way round. Got a 6 and now bought a 5
  4. Thanks Edwardio, have jotted down a note of that
  5. M656 YPU Thanks Ages ago now, no call back from Halfords. I have to go to Redhill this evening, they do not want me at their desk if they dont call me back i dont shout but i can be very scary when i'm angry..........
  6. one caliper has has been freed off a few times so it is being changed for one i got off nix and the rear pads need changing so doing at same time. We were going to do it ourselve but couldnt get the caliper off
  7. I'm sat here waiting for a call back from Halfords after 2 lots of trying and being put on hold forever Car was booked in at the local garage for the caliper and rear pads to be changed. Ken had got the pads from Halfords a couple of weeks back after being assured yes they were the right ones Yeah right so waste of time, had to apologise to the guys who had the car up in the air with one wheel off and now it has to be rebooked I wouldnt have got them from Halfords but what now? Is there something better i can get from someone on here or are brake pads brake pads and just all the same?
  8. Makes very sad reading, i truly hope they were killed on impact and didnt find themselves trapped
  9. Us gen 6'ers are kind to you sometimes, we let you think your winning
  10. Thanks for the guidance there i was confused between wax and polish and what i have is the Autoglym Super Resin polish so i can do that and get the HD wax to follow up. I always thought wax and polish were the same thing but have just been reading the detailing thread too, very good thread T-cut is what we used to use on the trade ins before they went on the forecourt where i used to work years ago, yep that was all they got
  11. Thanks for advice, you'd have cringed if you saw what i did. The bottle of 'white spirit' was an unlabelled bottle of mystery liquid i sniffed to try and identify before pouring a load on a cloth and saturating the areas
  12. The white spirit i used (before then seeing the posts saying not to) got all the tar off. But will there be residue of white spirit on there that needs cleaning off with something other than hot soapy (autoglym) wash?
  13. I think i'm going to give the tcut a miss, got autoglym wax so next day off (friday) give her another wash and get going with the polish
  14. Thanks guys, the bottle in the shed with no label on it (smelt like white spirit) did the trick. Perhaps reading the last couple of posts now maybe i shoudnt have been quite so liberal with it
  15. facelift has the slower engine than the prefacelift
  16. Is it a GT or an import? Fiesta Zetec is going to be lighter Plus x2 on the clutch, sounds like it needs changing before it goes
  17. Thanks, b/f is going to be fitting another rear caliper this atf so i think we need a trip to halfords anyway. I'll get some to keep in car as this isnt over yet i fear, more roads being done around here. Got some petrol to try on it in the meantime. Despite the amount of loose gravel and 20mph signs people were still haring past at 50/60 ba*tards Friggin road is still rubbish after the resurfacing too, full of bumps and all collapsing at sides Rant over, thanks for the tip Even better , have some white spirit in shed Thanks for that
  18. After the lane i live in plus another i have to travel down to work have both recently been resurfaced while still in use (by those big trucks with a roller following) today is wash day. Its worse than i thought, sprayed up both sides of wings, every panel on the car is splatted with bloody tar and the mudflaps its all set with gravel intermixed Am i right in thinking petrol will remove it? Any tips
