  9. Rich, Hope you don't mind, I wanted to thank you publicly for your help and advice with the carbon effect covering. This club is well worth the £10 joining fee, and the support from members is outstanding. Even though i have never met him, Rich sent me a few samples through the post at his expense so i didn't buy material which was unsuitable. He then went on to sell me some carbon effect wrap for a better price than i was quoted from the manufacturer! Awesome service, and i would highly recommend him! Baz

  11. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/X5-TOYOTA-CELICA-ALLOYS-5x114-205-50-16-1999-BREAKING-/330585492007?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Rims_Car_Wheels_ET&hash=item4cf86e4a27#ht_2478wt_1139 Check the item and all his other stuff. He is selling alloys, which look great in the picture, then read the listing and its actually picture 2 (the corroded alloys) which are for sale. Bit dodgy to me but hey its ebay! But to top this off he is using the club logo on all his listings. Im new here, but this dont seem right to me. If its ok, them mods please remove this post and accept my apologies, if is not ok i assume the club management should be made aware. Cheers Baz
  12. You cant worry about the garage, they will have insurance against this type of thing! The fact is you have paid them for a service and they have damaged your property. The way i see it you have 2 options 1. Insist they restore the car to its original condition at thier expense AND ensure you have a courtesy car for the duration of the work or 2. Agree compensation with the garage for the value of a respray adn do it yourself or keep the cash and live with the paintwork. Option 3. - just accept it because someone might get in trouble is not an option! They have made a mistake, these things happen but they must put it right! Good luck!
  13. Hi there, I have recently purchased a Gen 5 convertible. The metal roof mechanism is in good working order but its suffering from a little aluminum corrosion. I need to sort it as the white powder is flaking into the car. I have made a start by rubbing back one side to the good ally. My question is shall i just paint it with Hammerite or similar or will it need some sort of protection before painting? I dont want to remove the hood, so just looking to do the best job possible in situ. Any help or tips appreciated. Current corrosion Made a start removing corrosion thanks Baz
