  1. A set of top mouts, so now i can rebuild my front suspension
  2. That's all I have on mine, one TRD badge on the front & one on the rear
  3. Cheers guys, thought as much, but still had to ask.
  4. Just had a lovely new set of brake discs arrive in the post today c/o Freaky, hopefully this should sort out my braking issues once & for all. Now my dilemma is that the info that came with them advise for them to be bedded in for around 200 miles.and not to do any emergency or hard braking within that time. Fair enough, BUT I have no MOT, the next trip out in the car would be to the MOT station and with new discs, pads & brake shoes I have a feeling that my braking efficiency will be well below the required limit. I can't drive around in the car bedding them in as no MOT = invalid insurance = Points =..... you know how it goes. I could risk doing a long back road trip to the MOT station or pick another MOT centre further afield which 'may' help with the brakes, but they are probably going to need adjustment before hand. What advice has anyone got on this or do I just 'risk it' ?
  5. For future reference and if anyone else wants to have a read just in case they get stopped for a noisy exhaust here is all the info you need ISO 5130. http://www.unece.org/fileadmin/DAM/trans/doc/2007/wp29grb/ECE-TRANS-WP29-GRB-45-inf01e.pdf Construction & use regs http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1986/1078/regulation/55/made Method of measurement as described in Construction & use Regs.Method specified in paragraph 5.2.2.4 of Annex I to Community Directive 81/334. 6. Mine has a cat and four, yes four boxes in the system. I think it has more collector boxes than tube. It still has a meaty roar to it. Local Plod didn't like it when I only had 3 collector boxes
  7. Track rod ends are part of the Suspension / steering set up, so I doubt a difference in engines would make a difference in track rod ends. I will PM you my Reg if you want it
  8. I am just waiting to get pulled in my Sons Audi A3, The Celica is of the road at the moment so have been using his car as he can't use it (he's had his license revoked for 6 points in the first 2 years) He was forever being pulled by Plod, so I am just waiting Also how on earth can a Diesel exhaust be too loud and as for having a 'Noise team' hahahaha Have Plod got nothing better to do at the weekends ? Also don't forget that magic number of 3750RPM if stopped for exhaust noise and that 82dB level is for a drive by test NOT a static test as was proven in court.
  9. Was going to say Battery, but after listening again it sounds like a 12 bore shot gun in the background
  10. Found these classic Celica's while having a few spare mins when I was at home. a 1987 GT Vert. http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/toyota/celica/toyota-celica-gt-convertible/1339456 A 1980 Celica XT http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/toyota/celica/toyota-celica-xt-1980/1618583 not sure if they are known to the club
  11. Happy Anniversary Monkey Boy 1!

  12. If you know what you are doing it isn't too difficult a job.Give your self a few hours, a few beers and a swear box Axle stands are a must for safety I've just done my rear ones today. But that was on a Gen 6, not a 7 took about 30 mins per side, but I had the rear shocks off last week so I know what needed to be done. If the 7's are similar to the 6's then you will need to remove the front shock unit from the car before you can do anything. I'm sure some of the 7 owners will be able to fill you in on the exact details on what to do.
  13. Thought Crewchief was a Mr, not a Mrs. with the name of Richard
  14. 1986 Celica ST - LHD, Very beige , Not really my cup-of-tea, but whatever floats your boat http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/toyota/celica/toyota-celica-st-1986/1618315#
  15. That's interesting, If the Police say 82 dB is the limit and your V5 says 90dB at 5850 RPM, Where the hell do those figure come from ? Unless your's is an import
  16. Wow, I have just checked this on the V5 and sure enough there is a section on there for Sound levels Section U - Sound levels Stationary (dB(A)) Engine Speed (min-1) Drive-by (dB(A)) On all four vehicles in the MB household the section on the respective V5's are blank. The newest car being on a 04 plate. So, by the looks of things the Police probably would be able to prosecute you if your exhaust dB(A) is louder than that stated on your V5 (if it is stated on the V5), ....... Now that is bloody sneaky.
