There is a system Matt. My bodyshop did it to my front splitter to bumper when it was damaged. Its some kind of heat/electrical/fusion bonding. If I was at home i'd find out for you not I'm in a Chinese building yard. They did tell me though that its irreversable.

Let it go to sleep in the garage and occasionally wake it up to turn the running gear.

Harbour is in Dunbar, my home town. Lighthouse is Kinairds Head in NE Scotland. Lol miles apart.

Did you not hear the chain saw? On a serious note I'm glad it's only light cosmetic damage. I'd be apoplectic.

Be very careful how you wash it off. It's Saharian sand and it may seem fine and soft but it is highly abrasive. Don't use a mitt or sponge. You must hose it or snow foam it completed off the bodywork.
