  2. Thanks for the help guys. Need to get one of me wains to stop at the flat and get the number then
  3. Maybe a daft question. (and in the wrong section). Took delivery of a Gen 5 when at home over the festive season. Trying to tax the car online. Is the reference on the V5C (red bit) and V5C/2 (green bit) the same? Back out in Qatar now and don't have access to the V5C/2 to check reference.
  4. Happy 7 Anniversary colin blue!

  5. I don't think there will be an "average" Celica owner. After all it is anything but an average car
  6. Happy 6 Anniversary colin blue!

  7. Happy Anniversary colin blue!

  8. I'm sure you won't be labelled turn coat. I've not had a celica since April (God I still miss it). Maybe a new member type is required (Celica Groupy )
  9. Thanks for the responses and kind words. Just to let you all know the car is going to a new home at the weekend. Sorry to all those who were unlucky. Arbitary choice was the first person to PM me. Hope others aren't too disappointed
  10. Hi Folks I am moving to Qatar for work on Monday 1st April and need to get rid of my white ST . Time scales mean selling isn't an option, so I'm going down the same route as with my old 182 (donation to club member). If anybody wants it they can come & pick it up on Saturday or Sunday (need it for commute to work till Friday) Elsewise I'll need to take it to the scrappies on Saturay. The car is an ST, "R" Reg, White, Aprrox 97k on the clock, MOT early June, Tax July Would prefer to see someone on here getting something out of it than feeding a scrappy I'm located in Shotts, North Lanakrshire PM me if interested
  11. ]Hi Folks When I boughtthe ST it came with a set of BK Racing wheels, 16", with tyres: 205 x 50 x R16 There isn't any damage on them and I was wondering what would be a reasonable selling price.
  12. Do what I did - Offer it up as a donation to club members. That way you know it'll go to a good home andbe made use of
  13. Happy Anniversary colin blue!

  14. "whats up with the spoiler on the ST colin?? I know a good painter and the price would be between what adex has stated, anything higher is bonkers Thanks Brian. It's not for me. A work mate has a Honda S2000 & is looking at buying an unpainted rear spoiler. I'm the nearest thing he knows to a petrol head so asked me if I knew how much it would cost. I'l get in touch for your painters info if he wants to progress the spoiler idea.
  15. I was wondering roughly how much it would cost to get a rear spoiler painted by a professional.
  16. This technology is not new. It was used on aircraft during WW11 when fuel quality wasn't so good due to rationing/shortages. I got one of these from my sister who sold the wrist bracelets which help with car sickness and rhuematism. I had a scirroco at the time but never got round to installing it, so I don't know how effective the magnet would be on cars. It did help a lot with my sister-in-laws car sickness though.
  17. "The police pretty much told the sparky that when it goes to court he'll just get a slap on the wrist and the car owners affected will be expected to have to claim on their insurance to cover their loss. Even if the vandal did get told he had to pay for ALL the damage they'd probably claim they can't pay more than 50p a week out of their tax payer funded income. " Tell your spark to attend the court. Follow the wee bastard home then burn his house down. Let him claim that damage on HIS insurance.
  18. You can get new OEM ones from Toyota. I got them from the dealership in Falkirk but it took them 3 times ordering to get the right ones. Not cheap. And even more bother to get suitable locking nuts
  19. Generally it's not police officers in the speed camera vans. In Scotland they are manned by employees of "The Safety Camera Partnership. I work in Accident, Investigation & Prevention for a trunk road operating company which involves analysing personal injury accidents and considering if there are engineering measures which could be implemented to prevent the accident occurring again. Saying speed is not a major issue in the cause of many accidents (particularly on rural roads) is blowing wind out your arse. On a recent study, 60% of the accidents on a 95 mile route involved single vehicles losing control with no other factors like road condition, fatigue or mechanical failure being a factor. While a single vehicle accident may not involve others, could you cope with having to go out and scrape the remains of some driver off the road every day. Also in rural routes, a single vehicle losing control has a fair chance of hitting other vehicles which means the potential for head on collisions resulting in 120mph impacts. The "speed vans" actually called safety camera vans are a necessary evil because too many of us refuse to take responsibility for our own actions or care what impact our driving behaviour has on other road users. Don't speed then you don't need to worry about the camera vans.
  20. Result from BG 44K Pre-treatment approx 29.9mpg Post-treatment approx 32.9mpg And that's with being a wee bit heavier with the right foot. We'll see how long that lasts though.
  21. The answer would be Yes if they were provided in the rear. Otherwise: No. Head rests are a vital safety feature in any car. If you're in a crash with a car with no head rests, there's afair chance of serious neck injuries. It would be interesting to see how many peaple have actually adjusted the head rest to the correct height.
  22. Poll options only allow for grandads ( never above 3K) or (dare I say it?) Boy racers. I've had the ST up to 6k twice since buying the car in September. Never had the 182 over 5K in 3 years of ownership - Never felt the need.
  23. "so the rich pay out more on membership, I'm like the goverment! " Nothing like the government. They let the rich off all the time and make the poor pay.
  24. Got mine last week. PM'd ORC but didn't realise I should post it here too. Great calendar again. Well done to all involved AND everyone who sent in photos to let the rest of us see some lovely cars. Well Done CCUK.
