  7. Just as a little update, the car is up on the for sale section with loads of pics. More pics of the interior will follow after ive hoovered it out. Chris.
  8. Yeah, the red one it is! That photo is from back in 2010 i think. Not the clearest picture in the world - car is covered in snow right now but will try and take some pics asap. EDIT** This is the only pic i can find for now. This is maybe 2011.
  9. Hello all, thanks for the replies! Let me explain a little further. The gears have been a little crunchy for the past couple of years, I've been waiting for the box to give up for a while now. Since the 5th gear has gone, the other gears have gradually gotten worse and worse. It can be very tough to select gears at times - i don't believe its just isolated to 5th gear. Other issues, I will soon need to replace tyres, and one of the alloys (i suspect) is slightly corroded meaning i have a constant slow puncture. That, or my mechanic is crap and can't diagnose a valve issue!! The tax is going to run out at the end of the month, which would mean more money going into the car on top of the above mentioned. And i also believe the PS belt is in need of replacing. Another major issue is my commute to work every day. 12 miles a day in London traffic is not what these cars were designed for, and petrol money is getting a bit silly. So with all the issues mentioned above....Buying the parts, paying someone to change and fix the parts, buying new tax, and the cost of petrol. I decided its really not financially viable for me to keep the car.
  10. Hi guys. I've actually been a member for many years now, although not posted here for a long time! I bought my '95 Gen 6 GT back in 2009 and instantly fell in love with it! To be honest, its been pretty easy going considering the car is so old - with mostly trouble free motoring, never breaking down & always starting first time. Toyota certainly know how to build cars! Sadly, just after christmas, 100 miles from home, my 5th gear disintegrated on the motorway. After a loooong cruise home in 4th gear I decided it wasn't worth getting the car fixed as the repair costs would come to more than the value of the car. While i've been on the look out for a new motor, i've still been driving the celica every day and its making some god awful noises! But again, massive respect for Toyota, even their broken cars still work! Anyway...to the point. I'm picking up my new car tomorrow (Mazda 3 saloon 1.6 if your interested! Not that exciting but will save me a fortune on my daily commute), and i need to get rid of my beloved Celica. Now obviously I cant sell it as a usable car, but how do you think i could maximize any of the remaining value? Sell to breaker perhaps? Anyone know anyone breaking gen 6's who might be interested? Scrappage companies perhaps? I'm based in north west London if that makes any difference? Any help or advice would be gratefully welcomed! Thanks, Chris.
