  1. Get some 15-20mm plywood and step it up in layers to a height of approximately 80mm, wide enough to drive up. A standard size trolley jack will then simply slide under Of course this is for when working at home,I don't mean you should drive around with them in your boot incase of a puncture
  2. What a knob, any comeback and I would pass on his information to the authorities explaining that when you signed over the car to him he drove it away without tax and insurance. Is he saying he cannot insure it or simply cannot afford it,not your problem.
  3. I never wave ,probably think I was being smug with having a GT but that's not the case.I get other Celica drivers looking across so I will give a polite nod back. As for mid life crisis as somebody has already stated, it's not about age its about choice. The Gen7 is without a doubt one of the best looking sports cars on the road,i am onto my third one now and for the money nothing else can match it
  4. I have always used Pirelli P Zero. 205/45/17. My local independent tyre fitter will undercut any Internet sites, changed a set of tyres on my last Celica before Christmas and he only charged me £126 each fitted. I have Toyo fitted to my spare set of 18" alloys, great in dry conditions but shite in the wet, they will be getting changed to Pirelli when they are worn.
  5. Bad news that mate, accidents happen but it's infuriating when they do a runner. Have any of your neighbours got CCTV,might be worth asking round to see if they have picked anything up.
  6. Looks to be quite impressive stuff Kev,it's not cheap but for that extra performance it could appeal to a few members. It would be interesting to see how it performs on mpg for a Gen 7,if it outweighs the cost of the oil then it could prove to be a popular choice in the future
  7. I already have paintshield on the whole front of the car so I may consider getting the rest done as well or at least the doors and back panels, just wondering how much it would cost.
  8. I once saw a red Gen 7 with black strips stuck to the side, totally wrecked the look of the car,at least get them colour coded
  9. I wasn't talking dents, just scrapes and scuffs. My front end is wrapped in paint shield but it won't stop a rock punching a hole in the bonnet,i may even consider getting the rest of the car wrapped,it's a clear film so you hardly notice its there
  10. Yes obviously you would have to be careful when attaching them but i suppose any surface scratch could easily be polished out it that were the case ? I am only talking 4" strips along the centre of your bodywork that sticks out the most so we are olny talking a small area.
  11. Yes i was thinking that as well, maybe something with a felt backing with the magnet inside? Mine would only be used in the works cark park etc, they would not be on all the time so would this be okay ?
  12. Following on from my comments i made in Gen 7 forum about protecting your bodyside paintwork. Has anybody thought about these magnetic signs you can fit to the side of your car, usually advertising something. I was wondering if you could buy these either clear or colour coded to your car to offer some form of protection when parked up either long term at an airport car park or short term at work. I know you can buy them in plain white so would you be able to spray on top of these to match your car? There is the hassle of putting them on and taking them off every time but anything is better than scuff marks and dinks in your prized paint work. Any thoughts?
  13. Unlucky Tom,hope you get sorted soon, mine is venturing out of the garage again tomorrow now that the roads are clear
  14. I am not taking any risks, the Celica is stopping in the garage until the snow has cleared, i can either get a lift to work from one of the lads or get the bus
  15. 1 and 5 look nice but I think any would suit your car, looking myself at the moment, not easy trying to choose
  16. Mine is coming up to 57k on a 56 plate so its working out about average come December when its 5 years old.It had 40k on the clock at 2 year old when i bought it but i only average about 8k a year so come next year it will be under average for the year which was my plan I always use the wife's car for long journeys, nippy little cars these Corsa's
  17. I will get one when its a couple of years old and pay half price for it like i did with the GT
  18. My first Celica was a hire car for Derby NHS,the hire company traded it in after 3 years with 45k on it.
  19. Having owned both i would defo go for the 190,whole new driving experience and you will love the lift not that i get there very often You can pick a GT up for as little as 8K now depending on your budget
  20. Thats the one mate, somebody 'reared her back end' on the way to the show if i remember right Sorry Katie
  21. Will look out for you then Becky,i will be on guard duty next to the GT Sorry about your car, hope it gets well soon
  22. sorry wrong member, all i know was that it was a female
  23. They the same dents you got at last years RS ?
  24. So at last the RS is coming up and everybody is busy touching up their pride and joy ready for the big day. Would be interesting to see who is doing what to their car whether its a big or small mod and to give it that surprise element when you uncover it at the show ground, nice when you get positive feed back and to know all of your hard efforts have been worth while. No big mods for me,all i am doing is re-instating the spoiler light when i can get my arse round to Steve's who has kindly offered to give me a hand So whats your main mod which you want doing in time for the show or is it a big secret?
