karenparkin Posted February 21, 2015 Report Share Posted February 21, 2015 My gen 6 soft top 3sge engine has an intermittent miss fire. the engine light flickers and there is a loss of power that sometime clears with revs but not always as it is an auto this makes it very difficult to drive. sometimes its gone the following day but soon returns ht leads ,coil, and distributor have been changed or serviced.any ideas please Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

karenparkin Posted February 22, 2015 Author Report Share Posted February 22, 2015 Thanks for the advice .I am going to give the codes to my mechanic,He is having a problem with reading codes as the car is old and the problem is intermittent.Every time he thinks the problem is sorted within a couple of miles its off again . SKINY Posted February 25, 2015 Report Share Posted February 25, 2015 all it takes is a short bit of wire and a pen and paper, the ecu will store codes so some may not be relevant right now. disconnect the battery for 30 mins and then some "fresh" codes will probly appear. get these codes and we will take it from there Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

A simple diy job needing a paperclip and all the knowledge on here to know what the results mean, and it's given to a mechanic who can't cope because he can't plug in a machine to tell him what to do.
