On the Gen 7, the temperature read out on the dash shouldn't have to rise for the fans to kick in, - sitting at traffic is the main time they kick in as the radiator isn't getting the air it needs from driving to cool it down. Your car sits there with no cold air getting to it, so your fans kick in to compensate. It's perfectly normal, and also normal for the revs to drop while they kick in as they're drawing power.

When you say 'all the time', do you literally mean all the time or just now and again when you're sat at traffic or at the lights?

Things to check though - Check your coolant level, make sure that's between the min and max. You could also bleed the system (and/or flush it with fresh new coolant) to make sure there's no air, as air in the system will surely make the engine overheat.

Check your oil while you're at it too
