arizona
thermostat or the sensor on the bottom of rad?
shaungt4
They shouldn't come on every time you stop in town or at lights. They should come on after a spirited drive or when the temp gauge goes above the norm. As above thermostat or temp switch . Check for coolant leak
geraintthomas
On the Gen 7, the temperature read out on the dash shouldn't have to rise for the fans to kick in, - sitting at traffic is the main time they kick in as the radiator isn't getting the air it needs from driving to cool it down. Your car sits there with no cold air getting to it, so your fans kick in to compensate. It's perfectly normal, and also normal for the revs to drop while they kick in as they're drawing power. When you say 'all the time', do you literally mean all the time or just now and again when you're sat at traffic or at the lights? Things to check though - Check your coolant level, make sure that's between the min and max. You could also bleed the system (and/or flush it with fresh new coolant) to make sure there's no air, as air in the system will surely make the engine overheat. Check your oil while you're at it too
Briano
Check your coolant level How quickly does the car warm up, if coolant is fine move onto oil level as if that's low your car could also warm up really quick
brig
when driving there fine just went stopped at lights etc water and oil all ok and at the levels they should be at and it warms up very fast and temp needle sits in the middle where it should be
liam_tinny
Is your air-con switched on? If so I'm pretty sure at least one of the fans will come on?

liam_tinny
Rules that out then, may be air in the system or a sticky thermostat?
ams
Is normal for fans to come on when you come to a stop If your not loosing coolant, your temp is sat normal, it's not running continuously and your heater blows hot, I wouldn't
