mrGTFour
Im using my GT-four alot more now and forgot how loud it is.Whats the best way to silence it a bit? Its De-cat and got a full straight through mongoose exhaust system. Yes i know all of that means loud! Could a smaller backbox silence it a bit? I know the De-cat ect will make a difference sound wise, as in louder but its not MOT time yet and im not looking at putting the cat back in. Will it be a whole new system with silencer box/resonator?Only reason i ask, im doing a bit of a long trip and it booms in the cabin at motorway speeds
dublet
Are there any baffles available for that? My Blitz NUR Spec R has a removable baffle. Very useful, I think.

Wickie
Easiest way i think is put a smaller box behind the decat, there is a smaller resonator box on my HKS and when i had my powerflow done in STS in Redhill he asked if i wanted a smaller 2nd box behind the cat or for a louder sound just have the back box, so i would say get a second box cut into your system behind the decat for a noticeable difference. arizona
^^ this is what my exhaust fitter said after fitting the aftermarket one i'd got from ebay that was advertised as 'not too loud'

arizona
nope, i took my exhaust to a Powerflow franchise i was recommended to use, they said would do it for me if i needed , wouldnt imagine it would be expensive - £35 to £45 would think
mrGTFour
May just buy a new system to save butchering the one ive got. Only needs to be done for the motoway use. Just a drone! Im going for a 3" Stainless rolled tip backbox any way as im toning down a bit
Monkey Boy 1
Mine has a cat and four, yes four boxes in the system. I think it has more collector boxes than tube. It still has a meaty roar to it. Local Plod didn't like it when I only had 3 collector boxes
