I bought a spare gen 7 GT gearknob from our fellow club member esthar_city as I wanted one as a spare for my GT in case it got damaged lol. I took it to a place in Thetford called specialised polishing services who have done a fantastic job and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for rechorming etc. The gear knob looks like brand new which is fantastic because you can't buy them from Toyota anymore and their prices are very reasonable to the point where I will be taking the gearknob off of my car and having that done as well!!!!! May give them a look sometime Would definitely recommend them mate. It looks brand new and passes my OCD issues lol. My one was metal not plastic mate, they dipped it and rechromed it , not painted or anything. Was lucky as well as it only cost me a fiver coz I left it with them and told them to do it when they had a batch to do and it is now like a brand new part exactly from the factory.I tried two Toyota garages,to get the gear knob in the beginning and both told me the gear knob was £100 to buy new but both then rang back and said it had been discontinued. I am taking the one out of the car to Thetford on Monday all being well to get that one done. If your gear knob is the standard one that came with the gen 7 GT then it should be metal like mine and can therefore be re chromed. Hi mate This is the number for the company in question 01842 762700 if they can do it then send it to me if you like and I will take it to them I have taken my spare gen 7 gt gear knob to them and I have also taken hoody01's gt gear knob to them also.
