Chris CW
Anything not e-marked is technically illegal, and if the police see blue lights/tints (blue is one of their pet hates!) they are likely to pull you However, if it doesn't affect the light too much and they still look white you might get away wit it, and it still needs to let out over 50% of its original light
Razorjack
afaik the law and MOT merely talk about colour of the light emitted, not the actual lamp itself. No doubt plod would assume that a blue tinted lamp would emit blue light though Edited September 6, 2012 by Razorjack
Monkey Boy 1
Have a trawl through this. Some interesting (and surprising) information on legalities http://www.legislati...6/contents/made Schedule 4 - Part 1 - Para 7. The headlamp colour must either be White or Yellow Edited September 7, 2012 by Monkey Boy
harv_j
If you want to do it then do it, just be aware it may fail an MOT. Its pretty unlikely you'll get pulled over because the light omitted wont be altered significantly enough to look like anything other than a HID if it is just a slight tint. Or you could just get flyeye
