If she can go out and spend £100 on a night out then she can afford £200 for the cost of my insurance excess. And yes I'm definitely better off without her, it's only after all this stuff has happened that I realise it. There's not one point where i've been rude to her, been disrespectful or anything like that. I've received horrible voicemails, had my car vandalised, been promised a kicking and my car windows to be smashed in. What a lovely lass eh? Here's the thing - this lassie wants to stay in your field of vision. If you press charges, or demand payment, in a twisted way she'll have won because she wants attention from you. And the whole thing will drag on. She'll still have that connection to you that she craves. Ignore her completely other than what contact you need on a professional basis at work, and get the damage repaired yourself. Clean break - the only one that works. If she has just been sacked for assault (gross misconduct) then she will not have earnings you can deduct from, so she will be paying you back a quid a week for over a year, which will mean contact. Cut all ties with her! Yeah you're all right. I've phoned my uncle who works for Arnold Clark and he's given me a couple of numbers for windscreen specialists. I'll wait until the police get back to me and let me know how much she's willing to pay, then go from there. If it's in silly monthly installments then i'll just say forget it, put it down to a bad experience, and take my dad's advice in future! Tried calling the windscreen repair company that my uncle recommended but there's no answer. I'm assuming they're taking today as a bank holiday.
