NJN
Right folks...is there such a thing as a Celica wave/acknowledgment? Never really noticed till now but no other Celica drivers give the ol' wave. My brothers on holiday just now and I've been tasked with keeping his STi going (I know, what a boring task eh? lol) and every scooby you pass, the drivers hand creeps up at the steering wheel, plus, a wee head dip. Yesterday I passed probz 7 scoobs and every person acknowledged me. Today in my car, passed 3 Celicas and nobody acknowledged me Whats up with that?? No asif my car is boring...its fu**in' awesome!! RoryK
Nope, no ones waves with the celica for me either. I got a wave back from some lady I see sometimes comming back from work in a silver 140, but now I just think she waves back out of sympathy as the first few times she looked at me like I was abit mental Edited July 14, 2011 by RoryK
GreyRacer
I just sort of lift my right hand off the wheel palm outwards fingers splayed. I also like to acknowledge Evos but never Scoobies. Lol.
mrGTFour
Had a classic mini and that was more of a flash than a wave! but non of that in my Celica
arizona
I flicked lights at a couple the other evening and just got a strange look, the third one though i got lights plus big wave and i nearly hadnt bothered acknowledging that one, if we all keep doing it we'll learn 'em

The Blue Meenie
Funny ... I had a guy in a boxer van (driving towards me) wave and flash me on Flaxton Road (near York) (didn't have a clue who he was ... but may have been a Celica driver in disguise .... (and no... there were no bobbies about, or horses and I was driving at 30 through the village)

Monkey_matt
Other GT-Fours, yes I do, or if i recognise the other Celica, or see CCUK badges. but there are just too many celica's on the road drove by non-enthuiasts to wave to everyone
NJN
Lol thought so. Loads of other mod'd cars give the wave, nod and the rest, but never another Celica. I pass a dude in a white Skyline R34 most days and get mega reactions from him (think he's a bit excitable) as do I when I see him as I totally want his car!! Certainly brightens up your mornings!! mrsoundcraft
Hi, there's not a lot of red GT Fours in ayrshire so if you see me wave, and I'll wave back! I'll be looking out for a white gen 7 from now on. Edited July 14, 2011 by mrsoundcraft
juicygoolies
No because the Celica isn't really a car owned by car enthusiasts. I mean obviously some of us are, but we are out weighed by people who just buy them coz they look good or whatever and have no interest in cars. I mean an Impreza isn't a car bought by the average bloke because it has poor mpg, is loud and shouty and is too fast. I dunno how to get my point across properly but surely someone else understands what I mean and can explain it better!

I think what you are saying is that a scooby is more of an enthusiasts car and all scooby drivers recognise the fact but us celica owners have to make do with some people that do not recognise the fact that before there gen 7 (and even some gen 6s) there were celicas around before 1999/2000 May be wrong

LiamGTR
Nope, mostly because half the people I see in Celica's are old women Edited July 15, 2011 by LiamGTR
