slybunda Posted 28 August 2019 Report Posted 28 August 2019 Has anyone done cavity wax in the doors? Is it needed? If so whats best way to get the applicator wand in?
Infiniteblue Posted 28 August 2019 Report Posted 28 August 2019 I've just squirted stuff in thro the drain holes on the older ones they can rust but like under the sill covers sometimes it helps to drill one of the holes a bit bigger to get the applicators in u can take the doorcards off but can be a bit of a pain to get back on there mite be an easier way tho e.g. removing the handle/screw holes? but I haven't tried that
slybunda Posted 28 August 2019 Author Report Posted 28 August 2019 Hmm if i take door cards off it may be a good enough excuse to upgrade the door speakers.
tree Posted 29 August 2019 Report Posted 29 August 2019 https://www.jlaudio.co.uk/c2-650-car-audio-speakers-c2-speaker-systems-99617 I put these in mine and am extremely happy with them.
slybunda Posted 29 August 2019 Author Report Posted 29 August 2019 Wtf? I had my eyes on a set of 30 quid jbl's lol 1
tree Posted 30 August 2019 Report Posted 30 August 2019 It's a great enclosure the Celica cabin for sound.
ams Posted 30 August 2019 Report Posted 30 August 2019 There are drains at the bottom of the doors - if you block these your doors will rot. I wouldnt put wax in there - would poke the holes to make sure they are not blocked though
slybunda Posted 30 August 2019 Author Report Posted 30 August 2019 Understood. Will lay off the door wax then. Ams do you know of any other areas the wax should be sprayed in?
tree Posted 4 September 2019 Report Posted 4 September 2019 (edited) How are you getting on with the waxing sly? I pullout out the door kicks and sprayed into the holes there - loads of wax dripped out onto the drive. Whats the difference between doing that and the skirts- are they connected or completely different Edited 4 September 2019 by tree

Taking the skirts off allows you to do the outside of the sill. I havent waxed the passenger side yet. Today i done the entire bottom wnd again using the compressor sprayer and upol gravitex. Took the arch liners off too and even sorted out the fuel filler pipe. Will get photos up on the other thread later today or tomorrow. 1
tree Posted 5 September 2019 Report Posted 5 September 2019 Right I'm coming to yours to get mine done
