  1. Nothing has arrived for mine in a long long time but after christmas a few nice bits will be coming - areomotive A100o pump , A1000 FPR and 2 shiny aeromotive billet alloy fuel filters
  2. They are sought after because they are a rally rep wheel. 18's are the holy grail but rarer than rare - but the 17's fetch good money. Id be asking around £500 as thats what i sold ours for and they were cheap at the time
  3. One of 1st things we did with Erins 205 was replace the heavy chronos - The team dynamics on it now are very light for 18's and strong too. The alloys on mine weigh 7.8kg which for 8x18 is silly light
  4. Think people have too many misconceptions about coilovers and harsh ride - get decent set and as good if not better than OEM
  5. Ref the BMW / Fiat owners with JDM badges id say its because they are stupid. Ive seen BMW's with TRD badges on! I just put what are imo the best parts onto my car - some are JDM such as Bride seats , takata harness , Tein coilovers and Volk alloys others are not
  6. Been a yellow GT in Aldershot / Farnborough for last 3 years but dont think they are on the club.
  7. Was but OP is getting a money pit Gt4 instead With fuel prices being the way they are get something like a MX5 - cheap and cheerful , handle like a dream and in everyday driving will be more fun than either a GT4 or a GTO
  8. Not saying a 185 is rubbish - find a good one and they are good. But they are not a fast car at all compared to even modest modern cars - but thats true of most cars from that era. But to get a decent 185 you need a CS / RC as at least they look the part and are from a limited production run.
  9. Dont expect it to be fast - if you do then prepare for dssapointment. A standard 185 only puts out 200bhp in a car way heavier than a 202 - so hardly any difference in speed just the 4wd security. Also brakes are diabolical. Please do your homework - plenty of pitfalls such as rotting sills , cracks on bulkhead and if you dont know what your looking for then you will end up with a expensive pile of shit. If you have £2K then buy the 165 thats for sale - a deff future classic as so rare now
  10. Dont bother with either - both going to be money pits. Sell the 202 and buy something decent that can be used daily and have fun with
  11. Yer the gen1 is very nice - bet it goes like stink with that S2000 lump in it
  12. BMW were working on this 25 years ago - i did a school science project when i was 11 and wrote to various car companies asking for info on what technology they might use in the future. BMW sent me loads of stuff as did every other maufacturer including Porsche and Mercedes - only Ferrari declined and wanted £50 for a gay book they could sell me.
  13. Yep petes made something stupid like 520 at the hubs However the 185 alex237 owns made 652.7bhp on the dyno before he made some changes to it
  14. Asking as i have a set of PIAA HID bulbs that are this fitment and they have been sat in my store cupboard for years now. Its the HH114E kit and this cost me over £600 many moons ago - they still cost over that now - so wondered if it would fit my projector lights ?
  15. The one in the ad is a very nice car that once belonged to MATADOR before he sold and moved onto a very nice Audi RS5
  16. Having spent nearly 8 years working for a Toyota main agent there is no way on earth id trust any of those fucking half wits with my car. Might not be so bad with a more mainstream car like a gen 7 but ive seen too many things go on and id go with the mark 3 option as he is a trusted and well respected member on here who knows his onions.
  17. If your going to do suspension try and get all the components done at same time to save on labour. Look at pollybushes as will improve the handling no end as more than likely the car will be on the originals and will be well past their best. Also do the anti roll bar drop links and if you can find one a uprated anti roll bar will make a hell of a difference. If you combined all that with a LSD equiped gearbox it would be a amazing transformation and as well as handling like a dream your future proofing the suspension and will be like new.
  18. No its not a GT4 box its a box off of his GT he is breaking. You can tell difference between a lighter flywheel - revs easier but revs also drop quicker when changing gear.
  19. Gearbox doesnt cost that much for a 2nd hand one - infact gen6gt4 has one with a LSD that would improve your car. The Teins do make a huge difference but BC's cost way way less so why dont you get a set of those. Engines are ten a penny for a rev 3 3SGE - so if your thinking of going ITB's ect try and get a 2nd hand engine and recondition it then build it up to a good spec in your free time / as funds allow
  20. Gen 7 brakes are shite - be better off cutting a hole in the floor and braking Fred Flintstone style. Gen 7's do handle well though - that long since ive driven a gen6 other than a GT4 that i cant compare - and my 7 with Tein superstreets on it was like a go kart. But unless you buy a new car with a warranty your going to run the risk of things going wrong and having to spend ££££ to fix. Even the best built cars go wrong if not correctly looked after so if you keep on top of yours it should be fine - look at Insanity-74 his 205 has done well over 200K and as he looks after it it runs like clockwork
  21. Exactly - we do get bored. IMO no matter what you do to the 6 - wether ITB's , Beams conversion your going to have nagging doubts about things going wrong as all older cars do to some extent. Yes it was bad luck that the pump went on the GT4 - but this did make you paranoid about owning it and scared of things going wrong. If you can afford it go for something newer - like the S2K's you were thinking of , test drive a gen7 ( 190 ) and other stuff - things like BMW 330 coupe's are silly cheap and give 230bhp from a silky smooth inline 6
  22. Your asking for opinions - thats my opinion. Every 2 minutes your asking the same thing - my car is getting old what should i do. Someone says buy a GT4 another says a gen 7 - is one of those opinions wrong?? No because thar is their opinion and thats what your asking for. If your constantly asking wether you should buy a newer car then in your head / heart you cant really want to keep yours or you wouldnt be asking this question over and over again. its not negative - its being honest.
  23. Personally i think whatever car you buy your going to be paranoid and scared of it going wrong - evident with the charge cooler pump on the GT4 you did buy. You cant own a car without there being some pitfalls - things do go wrong from time to time , car parts do perish and wear out over time and no matter what we drive there will be a better newer car out there. so if your always going to be paranoid about things going wrong i think that shanks pony is the way forward
  24. This is my opinion - stop asking for opinions as only your opinion is the right opinion is that enough opinions in a opinion thread ???
